Saturday girlie lunch. There is extensive menu with something to suit everyone. Great for sharing. Scallops, chicken strips, bread and olives all fabulous. The place is very busy but rightfully so. So much nicer than Italian nearby where quality is lacking. Everything tasted fresh and quality.

Called in on a very cold Friday afternoon to a very warm welcome. The restaurant was very busy and we opted to order 6 dishes £12.95 per 3 dishes was recommended. The food was excellent from prawns to salmon to honey glazed chicken to squid - portions were just right. The interior is also authentic tapas. I bet this place... More

This place is well worth a visit. It was buzzing on a wet Tuesday night and we were glad we had booked as there were five of us. The selection on the menu is so impressive and extensive. The tapas were nicer than I've had in Spain. The scallops were super, also recommend the baked aubergine and couscous, beef stroganoff,... More

We have visited this restaurant numerous times and have always enjoyed the buzz and tasty food. Our most recent visit was no exception - particular thanks to Alba our lovely waitress who was very attentive.

We stumbled across this gem whilst having a two day break in Edinburgh. The outside is quite deceiving as there is a lot of space in doors pleasantly decorated in a "Moroccan/Med" feel. We had booked in advance earlier in the day and were seated on a spacious table. We didn't expect it to be as busy as it was... More

Excellent choice of tapas, all delivered to the table hot. The black pudding and the mini paella were good, as was the lamb tagine. Wine was good too. Very enjoyable in a busy loud environment. Not one to go for if you like peace and tranquillity.

Cafe Andaluz makes the best patatas bravas! Their service is great and the food comes out very fast! I would definitely recommend going here for a nice meal. Ordering two dishes is plenty!

Description
Our newest and largest venture, Cafe Andaluz hopes to bring a little bit of Spain to George Street, Edinburgh. Sharing tapas is a great way to eat socially and we make our dishes fresh and as varied as possible. All our dishes are prepared using the best raw materials and are all prepared on the premises. Our wines are sourced solely from Spain and our Sangria is made from traditional recipes passed down through generations. Our staff will always be available to offer advice on menu choices and recommend some of their favourites.

Staying in New Town

Neighbourhood Profile
New Town
Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town, until after dark when strappy dresses come out to play. This is the city’s central business district with its smaller offices, clothes boutiques, and many of the city’s flashiest restaurants and ritziest clubs. The architecture along roads like George Street helps give it a swank and formal feel: it’s a planned Georgian development of regal townhouses, geometric squares, and self-important statues. But it’s also a very wanderable neighbourhood, with a healthy bustle at almost any time of day and fine people-watching in places like St Andrew's Square which fills with picnickers around lunch. You’ll also find a series of cheerful basement bistros on Hanover Street, while dark Rose Street has something of the feel of an undiscovered back alley and is chock-full of characterful pubs and small independent shops.
