Beautiful loo (for real and not joking). The toilets were 5 star. Always judge a restaraunt by its toilet. It's true! The food was great, plentiful and tasty. The only let down was we waited too long for the bill. Visit early in the evening.

Wow!! Food was absolutley incredible. Service was great and decore/atmosphere was lovely. Prices were a little high however so worth the money after realising how tasty the food was. Only issue, singular rice bowls were a little too small especially for the curry dishes. Other than that, perfect!!

Visited on Weds 28th Dec 2016. Wanted some good Chinese food in a hurry and we had not booked anywhere. Arrived at 8.10pm and asked for a table, we were told to take a seat in the waiting area. Seated at 8.30pm. It was only after we had been seated and ordered our starters that we were informed it would... More

Not being a lover of the usual Chinese restaurants this was one of the better ones. It is well decorated, very clean and staff were attentive. Food was good with all the usual selection on offer.

The restaurant is decorated very nicely slightly 'posh' it was quiet when we arrived, attended to straight away, food was lovely and served quickly. Prices are reasonable, I think it is what you would expect from a good Chinese restaurant

This award-winning Cantonese restaurant on Atholl Place stands out on the Edinburgh restaurant scene for its chic dining room and contemporary cuisine. China Town is renowned for its sleek interior – which features chocolate brown walls decorated with antique Chinese musical instruments, silk curtains and LED lights. Popular for stylish parties, formal family get-togethers and special celebrations, China Town has earned an excellent reputation for its innovative cuisine. Seafood dishes are the kitchen's specialty, and you can order scallops, sea bass and halibut steamed with garlic and spring onions or stir-fried with black bean sauce. Head Chef Thomas Chan is happy to create bespoke dishes on request, and his acclaimed menu is complimented by a diverse wine list.

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighbourhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theatres and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
