Popped in for a sandwich and settled for a warm chicken pannini with olives and pesto through it. I had a 10inch meat pizza. We also had a couple of peroni and morreti beers. Always warm and friendly atmosphere and the service quick and slick. We are thinking about going for lunch there today.

All the food was nice enough, we had some fresh bread that was lovely and a couple of pizzas that were nice too but the wait for our pizzas was very long and it was often hard to get the attention of the staff as they were chatting.

A great small, "family" Italian restaurant in the Grassmarket section of Edinburgh. Very friendly, efficient service; reasonable prices; good food. Perfect if you ever tire of the pubs.

We came here for dinner and had a fairly good pizza and garlic bread. Dough was perhaps a bit thicker than would be my preference. It would probably have been a better lunch place than nice evening restaurant as in the evening there were a few quite young couples but service was ok. (Couple next to us smashed a glass... More

Popped in for a quick break from seeing the sights. Children had fabulous hot chocolates with all the trimmings, and we had lovely fresh coffee. And off course a delicious cake each! Quick friendly service, the staff didn't stop. Would recommend.

We ate here on a couple of occasions while in Edinburgh and we received a good service. The pizza's where authentic with fresh ingredients, the toasties where also tasty and well presented. The restaurant itself is warm and welcoming, the tables are a little worn (wood stain comming away in places), but I guess that adds to the charm. Would... More

Although my family stopped at this restaurant for snacks only, diners around us that we talked with seemed pleased with their full meals. We ordered special cheesecakes and torts that were tasty, and tea, of course. If we had more days to spend in Edinburgh we would have returned for a broader dining experience.

Reasonable price for excellent food. Feels more like a cafe than restaurant; felt abit squashed in! Could cater for dairy free daughter!

If you're looking for gluten free, this restaurant does offer a good selection. I appreciated their honesty on arrival as they explained they cannot guarantee their is not a risk of cross contamination - most restaurants hide this fact- however scary it is initially I decided to try it and had No "after" effects. On the contrary chose a risotto... More

Staying in Old Town

Neighbourhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
