I've been to this restaurant several times and I've never been disappointed. The roughcast walls and general ambiance give it a Mediterranean feel. The food is great, from the bread and dips, through to my favourite main; the cured ceviche. They have a nice looking drinks menu, including plenty of gins, but so far I've stuck to the red wine... Food could have been hotter, nice ambience but we left wanting to go to the chippy. Small portions but lovely food despite that. Lots of choice of Spanish sherry and gin, but we wouldn't go back

This was our second visit to Tapa and again we all thoroughly enjoyed it. We went for the £25 per person option which came with bread, ham and cheese with dips then each person chose 2 tapas dishes then followed by a cheesecake, macaron and truffle as pudding. Some staff more helpful than others as can be confusing on how... More

If you want to pretend or feel that you're on holiday in Spain simply visit this establishment of an evening and you'll be transported (at least your taste-buds will). I'd heard about this place for a while but never got around to visiting mainly because it is only two minutes from my work but also the location is not in... More

Food and service excellent. Lovely atmosphere. Have been a few times for lunch and dinner and never been disapointed. Love that you can keep ordering a few dishes at a time. Spoilt for choice. We will definately return.

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome. Like that the waiter recommended ordering a couple of dishes at a time. That meant we didnt overorder a n d dishes came hot. Our only problem was what not to have. The seam bream and pigs cheek were both sublime but all the food was delicious. As for... More

First time in Tapa, but will not be the last! Booked online which was very easy, was quiet at 5.00pm, so as you would expect service was attentive and prompt. Had 5 tapas between two which was exactly he right amount for us. Almond cake for desert was amazing. Finished up with a Valentia gin and tonic, was really refreshing.... More

After reading glowing reviews in TA we decided to try it and weren't impressed. We had sea bream tapa (2 tiny, lukewarm pieces of fish topped with a green sauce), pollo al inferno (nice, hot tomato sauce), beef croquets (greasy), cod and prawn skewers were small but tasty and baby squid which was more like lots of batter and miniscule... We had a very enjoyable lunch in Tapa on Saturday. The menu was clearly described to us, including a suggestion of how many dishes to order, which turned out to be spot on. The portions are larger than other tapas which means when sharing you feel that you're getting a good taste of the dish. Good lunch time atmosphere, with... More

No matter where you are in Spain, a moments walk from the main tourist traps will almost always immerse you in the hustle and bustle of real Spanish life- busy bars and restaurants full of animated discussions conducted over fresh, homemade food. With this in mind, we selected our home of 19 Shore Place as the perfect venue to recreate this wonderful ambiance in Edinburgh.
