Went for a quick lunch.... or what should have been. Ordered a Ban Mi (apologies of the spellings incorrect) and a Bang Bang Noodle Salad, not the most difficult things to cook. So why then did it take 45 minutes to come when the place...More

We'd been wanting to come in here for a while and try their bahn mi...we're local so it's a lot closer than other places in town to get them. One chicken and one King prawn ordered, now, what arrived was at best an open 'sandwich'....More

Popped into treacle for a quick relaxing pint and a nibble. Girl that served me was very pleasant, I ordered a pint of premium lager which was quite flat and very expensive (£5)compared to other bars locally. I also ordered sweet potato fries, the waitress...More

A nice little bar/cafe. We did not eat but the food being brought out looked of a high standard, Nice bar staff looked after us well. A good location off the beaten track but close for pre-show drinks for the Playhouse of Stand comedy club

This place has really gone down hill, bad cocktails and even worse service, just as well the barman deducted the cocktail from my bill it was shocking, when asked what he had put in the cocktail half the ingredients were missing he argued that the...More

From the waitress's sneer when I said I was there on my own to eat, things just got worse. The waitress was extremely unpleasant, left me so long with the menu that I had to go find her, then she ordered me the wrong thing...More

I hadn’t been in years but we had a great time the other night. The cocktails are excellent and the food is not bad. The only disappointing thing was the banana and coconut cream pie. It had a hard cold layer of dedicated coconut which...More

Broughton & Calton
Lying where grandiose New Town townhouses give way to
malls and utilitarian housing, Broughton and Calton
have long been transitional neighbourhoods with a
mixed identity. It’s here that Edinburgh’s gay village
found a home in the 1980s. But gay culture is anything
but overt along bustling epicentre Broughton Street;
even if polished pubs, hip bistros, smart delis and
art galleries all speak of affluent good taste. The

Description
Sometimes you just need to let a bar be what it wants to be. To some, Treacle is a great cocktail bar – home to some of the cities best bartenders, winning a handful of awards along the way……to others it’s a great place to go for food, a weekend pre-club venue or a mid-week place to meet up with friends (or that girl/guy you met last weekend). We hang out with the breakfast crowd seven days a week from 10am and we keep going through lunch and dinner until 10pm – when the lucky chefs get to go home and the even luckier bartenders get to fire out cocktails, craft beers and ciders until 1am. Whatever your reason for going to Treacle – bring it on
