Recommended by our Air BNB hostess. Would never have found this place otherwise as off the main tourist trail. Really great food in unfussy but authentic tapa s restaurant . Highlights were the Chargrilled Calimari and slow cooked pork Also great desserts including cheesecake and great ice cream.

When I booked a table for last Friday, I was advised that we'd have to be out by nine, which was absolutely fine. Unfortunately, we were having such a great evening, that we didn't notice the time until the waiter politely reminded us (as he put down our coffees) that we should be leaving. Now, I know that it was... More

I was here for dinner early this week and was surprised by the good quality of the tapas. The food is fab however wine could have been better. The Spanish waitress (forgot her name) she was very good and friendly. Will be back!

You order a number of courses to share. Some courses are with inspiration from South Africa. Booking is a must

This restaurant is incredible! It was the best way to end our 2 week trip in Scotland and it was our favorite dinner of them all! My husband and I ordered 5 delicious tapas including the tasty croquettes and couldn't resist the torta llorona chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream dessert! Don't forget to order that even though it takes... More

Indaba is incredible, one of the nicest tapas I've ever had. All the dishes didn't come out at once which for some that may bother but it meant we were able to appreciate each of them separately. There has been so much thought put into each dish. Such unique amazing flavour combinations. The chicken skewers were out of this world,... More

Indaba is a tapas restaurant. It describes itself as being a mixture of Spanish, Venezuelan and South African cuisine. It doesn't look that special from the outside. It's on an unassuming side street and has a slightly garish blue and yellow sign. I wouldn't have been attracted to it if I hadn't first read the reviews online. Once inside, it's... More

Was recommended to this place as we stayed close by. Food was great, hard to choose a favorite. Service brilliant, friendly and informative. Off a side street, but well worth looking up for great Tapas

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighbourhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theatres and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
