Service not good. Wait very long for waitors (ignored us although they saw us)... Food is average, would not come back.

A very nice experience with good food served by friendly, attentive staff. We had fifty/fifty pasta and pizza which was excellent

Busy restaurant but well run by efficient staff. Food fresh and tasty and served with panache. Staff friendly but not in your face. Will certainly return

Helpful, friendly service and most enjoyable pasta and house red wine, Solandia Rosso, The lamb ragu with egg pasta was delicious and extremely filling, even at under 600 kcal. If you want some added oomph, ask for the chilli oil (a good addition to my husband's spaghetti and meatballs.

We had dinner at this restaurant. It is a quite small narrow restaurant which by 5.30 was full. However, there is a second floor (not being used when we were there) with probably more tables than on the ground floor. The tables for two are quite small and if both people had a pizza you would struggle for space. The... More

We were a group pf 3. Although the restaurant has a great cosy atmosphere and food was quite good (we had avocado salad, pollo calzone, and lentil pasta), however we felt that past the 30 minutes, the staff were "aggressively" asking if we need something else, took our plates away without asking, brought the bill without us requesting it. We... More

Although the restaurant was busy we didn't have to wait too long to be served, good selection of authentic food, nice cocktails, reasonably priced.

A fairly busy place, perhaps because they were desperate to use up every inch of space downstairs and leave the large upstairs unused. These cramped conditions found us put next to the till/cutlery-drawer/meet-and-complain-about-customers location. The drawer slamming was making life a bit difficult so we asked to be seated at a table near the kitchen. We were strongly advised against... More

I visited this Bella Italia this month whilst on a trip with my partner. We had a Groupon, which was good value but the menu we were offered was somewhat restricted with few vegetarian options. The meals themselves were decent, and the service was fast enough. The location was very convenient as well, being on the main high street.

Staying in Princes Street and Gardens

Neighbourhood Profile
Princes Street and Gardens
Glaswegians tease Edinburghers that their High Street is only half one, since buildings only line one side. But what they don’t say is how extraordinary the views are from Princes Street as a result. From here you look onto expansive and decorative public gardens beneath the mighty basalt cliffs on which Edinburgh’s Castle stands proud above the rest of the dramatic old town skyline. Yet many of those on Princes Street look the other way, as they’re concerned with chain store shopping or catching the tram or a train at main train station Waverley. But it’s not all utility here; the Scottish National Gallery rewards purposeless wandering, and December’s huge winter market in the gardens begins a season of revelry which ends with Hogmanay, Britain’s largest New Year’s street party.
