Really tasty food, I will definitely go back! Portions are quite filling, also juices are tasty and freshly squeezed.

We live in Stirling and we were looking for some nice Lebanese food and Beirut didn't disappoint us. The Mansaf was second to none, the starters reminded us of Beirut and the dessert were delicious. Thank you guys

Sharon and I had fancied trying Lebanese food after I enjoyed some in London. I found Beirut quite by chance one day and decided to give it a go.... so glad we did! We had an early dinner and went for the set meal for two. We brought our own wine along too. Presented with about 7 plates of food,... More

I had high hopes for a tasty meal but was left very unimpressed. The starters were bland and cold, the entree completely burnt when it was supposed to be grilled. The service was lacking and I really think they put energy into some of the customers they knew personally but didn't for visitors. I would not recommend this restaurant.

Beirut is one of my favorite spots in Edinburgh since it serves delicious food at moderate prices compared to Edinburgh average. Especially its wraps and hummus are very good. You will pay 7 pounds to a big wrap, a big serving of hummus and fried potatoes which is quite good compared to other places nearby. It's definitely worth giving a... More

Nice staff and good service but I had the lamb rolls followed by the chicken shawarma wrap and found both very plain. The only good dish I tried was the slow cooked lamb leg my friend had but I'm afraid I wouldn't go back.

My partner and I went for an early evening meal here midweek. Right from the start the staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The menu is quite extensive for a small restaurant and the food was very tasty with good portion sizes. The restaurant does not serve alcohol (fine for us) but you can BYOB. The only slightly negative... More

Had a tasty meal - bit different from our usual choice of restaurant and well worth a visit - no license but can take your own bottle. Enjoyed the food a lot and the staff were friendly

A really good restaurant with very good value I think. We ordered the sample platter and it is very good. They don't serve any alcohol so bring you're own!

Thank Lorraine S

Staying in Southside & Holyrood

Neighbourhood Profile
Southside & Holyrood
Many of Edinburgh’s student hangouts gather around university buildings in Southside, the sort of neighbourhood that supports a long string of second-hand shops and eateries serving ethnic food for just a few pounds. In August the student population is replaced by vast numbers of boisterous visitors here for the Fringe, Edinburgh’s world-class comedy and arts festival which headquarters itself here. Flanking Southside are two great parks. The Meadows is a vast flat and sporty space where football, rugby, tennis, cricket, croquet, and golf often all take place side by side. Kids in its big playgrounds add to the joyful noise. Far bigger and much wilder, Holyrood Park extends to the east and provides a real hike up Arthur’s Seat, but the district is best known as the site of Scotland’s Parliament and its premier Royal Palace—and their steady stream of sightseers.
