One of my friends and I went to Solti for dinner on her birthday. We were not that hungry but once we tried their starter we couldn’t stop eating and waiters made us feel very welcomed and comfortable with their warm welcoming conversations, amazing customer service. We had chicken momo (dumplings), jackfruit Biriyani, Lamb chops, jackfruit bhuteko, list goes on, prepared in a typical Nepalese way. I haven’t had that type a food in years. If you really want to try typical Nepalese food, I highly recommend you all to try out Solti restaurant in Edinburgh. When I was chatting with one of the waiters, Khima, then I found out he is the owner of this restaurant and this restaurant runs/supported by the other family members also. I absolutely loved the interior design/decorations also. I would definitely go back again x

I recently sat in to eat at Solti and could not recommend it high enough, the food was absolutely delicious and the service was amazing. We were served by Khima who recommended the best dishes which included the chicken momo-which I was sceptical about. However, the Chicken momo was amazing and came with this lovely sauce and I’ve since recommended them to several other people-definitely worth trying! We ordered several other dishes including the butter chicken, the chicken hot pot and the garlic chilli chicken all of which I would recommend. If you wanted something mild the butter chicken is amazing and if you wanted something a bit more spicier the chicken hot pot is to die for. The restaurant itself has an amazing interior that adds the best atmosphere to the experience and all the staff members cannot be faulted. Since sitting in I’ve already been back for a take away and it was just as amazing as the first time. Every time single time I’m in Edinburgh I will purposely make a point in ordering food from Solti because there is just no food like it-it is most definitely worth going to.

Our family visited Solti this week ( Monday evening) for dinner recommended by our friends. Restaurant is nicely organised and we were received with a warm welcome. Staffs were very friendly and caring. A wide verity of food and drinks selection were available in the menu. We ordered range of vegetarian, non-veg dishes. Aloo timur and chicken momo were absolutely brilliant. In main course we ordered, jackfruit bhuteko, machha jhol (fish gravy), okra aloo fry etc and we were give aloo tama as a complimentary. All the dishes were delicious. Presentation was very nice and entire environment was cozy and pleasant. We had a great evening. We are definitely visiting again and strongly recommend.

A lovely restaurent, on Drummond street, just off South Bridge, a few minutes walk south of the Royal Mile. This is a family owned and run restaurant, that provides wonderful and tasty food, based on recipies from Nepal, and neibouring states of India, combined with polite and efficient service. Compared to the more typical Bangladeshi style of cooking, the Nepalise food here tends to have a lighter taste and texture, still combining spices to produce great flavours, including in the chicken dopiaza a lighter, slight citrous taste to the sauce, which was great. The food and service here is great, and i'd strongly reccomend eating here if you're ever in Edinburgh. The ability of the chefs to produce tasty and fresh food is outstanding, which combined with the great service, and wonderful building creats a great experience. The prices are good, so this restaurant gives great value for money.

One of the nicest meals I’ve had. Every dish was delicious and I’m still thinking about the garlic naan. It is a little on the pricey side but food is so delicious I didn’t care. The service was fine, waiter was a little too overfamiliar bringing up football to people who don’t care about it. Apart from that I couldn’t fault it.

Myself and my partner visited Solti as I had eaten at their sister chain Gautams prior and enjoyed it so much I couldn’t wait to try the new variety at the new place. I must begin by saying the atmosphere is Solti is amazing, everything down to the paintings on the wall were immaculate and very well thought out. The decor was slightly more upbeat than Gautam’s classy vibes which gave Solti a whole new character. It’s much more of a hip/chic restaurant that I can totally see becoming the new local hot spot. The food was everything I expected and more the food was packed with flavour and each dish had a different taste. The cocktails were delicious too. The attention to detail here at Solti was what struck me the most everything was very aesthetically pleasing to look at with the variety of garnishes used. The staff were very friendly especially the man behind the bar making the cocktails. All in all a great dining experience and I can’t wait to come back.

So we were recommended this place by a local and checked out the reviews and were all really good! So we thought we’d give this place a try as it was very central and close to the places we were visiting. We were welcomed and served by a very charming and chatty waiter called Stefanos who was eager to help and was an absolute pleasure to be around. The food was amazing, we all had different dishes and everyone loved their meal, the atmosphere and overall vibe of the restaurant was nice and intimate and had lovely decor. I will certainly be recommending this place to my friends and family wishing to visit Endinburgh in the nearby future. Congratulations Stefanos and your humble workplace Solti, you’ve not only filled our stomachs but also our hearts, thankyou for a wonderful evening

Food was delicious and the staff were GREAT. My friend’s dish was slightly spicier than expected - the staff took it away and adapted it to make it less spicy without any fuss. They were attentive. The place was busy and vibing. Really great value for money too - loved it. Would recommend the Nihari Ghost!!

Solti is a fairly new Nepalese restaurant, beautifully decorated with excellent service. The food is wonderful and has a twist on the traditional Indian/ Nepalese menu. The Chicken tikka masala was tender succulent and truly out. The Raja Nihari Ghost was a revelation.... lamb shank in a tomato and onion gravy you have to try it to believe it ...wow. The lunch offering is also unique, so delighted to have found such an excellent all round restaurant. Friendly, great decor , fab service with food from the gods.

I stumbled on Solti as a possible takeaway as my wife and I were here with our dog. Fortunately we were able to leave him at our apartment and decided that we'd chance our arms at a table to eat in instead, we are on holiday after all. We owed it to ourselves. We were immediately met with a warm welcome and given the option of table or booth. As I was doing my upmost to be romantic we chose a booth. it had a candle and everything. The starters looked great but we decided to choose the tandoori mix grill instead. Dangerous I know, but as our first meal of note out in the wild since covid began we wanted to try as many different flavours as possible in one sitting. We weren't disappointed. The mix of King Pawns, Chicken Tikka, Sheek Kebab and Lamb Chop were spot on. The real star for us though was the paneer, we both agreed we'd happily eat our own bodyweight in that. For mains we ordered the Lamb Kathmandu, a King Prawn Madras, Garlic Naan and Piilau Rice. the Madras really was good with a fiery heat , the Naan dripping with garlic butter really felt a little sinful, but the Kathmandu? Stand out dish of the evening. potent? definitely, but with a real depth of flavour and an almost slow cooked pull-apart texture. it might be the best curry I've had in twenty years, and I don't type those words lightly. We were fortunate enough to spend a lot of our evening chatting with our hosts. they were kind, attentive but not overly so, and clearly have huge passion for the cuisine they serve. They also happen to come across as thoroughly decent people. To finish. After all of the madness the world had thrown at us this last 18 months it was a real treat to spend the evening at Solti. The word roughly translates as "pal" in Nepalise and is entirely fitting for the atmosphere.I'd happily class the Kathmandu as an old friend! A little bird tells me a London restaurant may be on the horizon. If they manage to replicate the food I have eaten tonight I have no doubt it will be (as it should be) a roaring success. Thanks guys. Dom & Merle x P.s. try the Pink Mojito, you won't regret it!

Visited Solti between Christmas and New Year, during a trip to Edinburgh with my wife. Food was beautiful. Easily a 10/10! The bill came to around ÂŁ70 for popadoms and tray, mains with sides, extra breads and a bottle of wine, which was very reasonable! Would 100% recommend!

Lovely restaurant with delicious food. We started with the popadom tray which came with scrumptious authentic dips, we then had the tikka masala and garlic chilli chicken curries. We were both very impressed, I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Visited Solti for a mid week lunch with friends. Lovely airy main room with bar and great little dining area at the back ideal for small groups. Decor is a mix of modern navy walls and really comfy chair with traditional Nepalese touches . The wooden floor and lighting is stylish. The food is fresh , light with amazing flavours. They have a light bite or a bigger bite menu which had a modern contemporary twist on some traditional dishes. Big on flavour and imagination with a smart wee cocktail menu on offer .We dined with soft jazz playing in the background. Check out the Nepalese prayer flags on the stairs going down to the kitchen. A great addition to this area.

What a fabulous little restaurant. We arrived and although they didn’t have a table straight away, they were very friendly and assured us if we were back in 15 mins they’d have one for us. When we returned we were met by such a happy and enthusiastic team, with the most delicious Indian / Nepalese food I’ve ever eaten. Such a different menu and all our friends agreed that it was simply delicious and very well priced. Good cocktails and even when I knocked mine over they rushed to ensure it was cleared up and brought another to replace immediately. If we are ever back in Edinburgh we’ll be sure to return. Thank you to all your amazing team. A memorable restaurant.

This is my second time dining here and I brought my fiancé and daughter (1 year old). I was delighted to see the same waiter Stefanos (who remembered me) from our first visit as he was so attentive. We came at lunch time and the value and quality of food is outstanding, so well presented and absolutely delicious. I’ve been to Goa many times and have tasted authentic Indian food and couldn’t recommend this place more. All staff are brilliant but Stefanos was incredible with our daughter, as it can be challenging dining out with a one year old. He made us feel so welcome and got involved with our daughter to help settle her and ensure we were comfortable. This makes such a difference in a restaurant and I’ve never had food or service like it. We can’t wait to come back with friends and take more advantage of those delicious cocktails. Thanks to all today! (Willow’s Mum and Dad - Scottish Borders)
