Went today about 1-30. Sat in the "pub" section. Received a warm welcome and although they were understaffed the service was great, warm & friendly. Love the new decor. The food was well cooked & tasty. This is on my list as a great place to eat, relax and enjoy the atmosphere without feeling rushed. Wish I got the name... More

Got conned to coming to this restaurant as advertised as a st Patrick's day themed night Spent over £250 on meals looking forward to some Irish fun and dance. No chance . But they had a band on BUT they did not know that they where booked for a st Patrick's night party. Bottom line Conned.

I went here twice while staying across the road at Masson House. Both times I was very happy with my meals. The food is excellent and is a pretty good value for the price.

One year ago, we dined here twice for evening meals and the service and food were superb. This year we returned twice but were disillusioned with the whole dining experience. The cod and chips were balanced on a plate the size and shape of a small computer keyboard so that several bits of the meal ended up on the table.... More

Newly renovated, the Salisbury Arms has a fashionable, light wooden interior complete with fresh flowers at every table, suiting its gastropub claims. However, as the old adage goes, sometimes beauty is only skin deep. My steak, ale and mushroom pie looked the part, with shortcrust edges and a puff pastry top. Yet these masked a mere 5 small pieces of... More

I visited the Salisbury Arms for lunch with a friend. Although it has a proper bar and full drinks selection, it does feel much more like a restaurant. The space is light and airy, and quite pleasant. There were not many other diners when we were in, but it didn't feel empty and had a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. The menu... More

First time here for years and definitely complete changed. Used to be just an old run of the mill pub but now had an overhaul. More of a restaurant now. Not too far from centre and on main bus route. I would advise reserving a table on Friday nights, we did fortunately as it was near enough full. Good range... More

Salisbury arms was recently renovated and looks nice. Family friendly with music in the pub area. No update in the menu though, reasonable food probably pricy for what it offers.

I had a very nice long lesuarly lunch, with a very good bottle of Chateauneuf Du Pape. The newly refurbished restaurant & bar is much brighter and a lot more welcoming than before. The bar seating area is much better organised, feels more open and a larger area. I started with the Deep-fried Somerset Brie, which was very tasty. I then... More

The newly refurbished restaurant is lovely, very nice décor. There were 4 of us, all retired and nothing to rush for, which was lucky as the meal was quite a while in coming. We had to ask someone to take our order, and after having plenty time to look, we chose our food. Unfortunately, my choice was off and I... More
