I like what they've done here. Very cool. Quality eggs. Service was good but unhurried and it's cool that's it's just a touch off the often beaten track.

Lovely place. Nice atmosphere. The foods are great, especially the eggs. However some of the poached eggs are a little over-cooked.

Really nice coffee place, ideal for brunch. It offers a variety of choices but you should definitely try the bacon waffles! Lovely decoration and very good service as well

Stopped there for a breakfast, after reading all reviews here. I wanted to try eggs benedict, but I had eggs royal. It was good. Also, my coffee was good and mango smoothie too:) lovely place, good and friendly stuff

The food and coffee are top notch but it's a bit cramped for my liking. The eggs benedict are their speciality as are the waffles.

Beautifully decorated and cute little cafe in the so-called ´new town´ Edinburgh. Went there at 9.05 am (opens at 9) and had to wait about ten minutes for a table. Well worth it though!! My boyfriend and I ordered two lattes which were absolutely delicious, a yummy (and big!!) smoothie and finally eggs royale and bacon and maple syrup pancakes.... More

Came here with a couple of friends. This is a small place so the seatings are limited, we were lucky to find a free table. The coffee is great, we tried the breakfast panini, the waffles and the eggs benedicte which were just yummy!!! It was a great start of the day and I would definitely go back if I... More

This is a relatively new cafe in Edinburgh- opened last year. Not sure why it doesn't have its own page yet as it's very popular.

Staying in New Town

Neighbourhood Profile
New Town
Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town, until after dark when strappy dresses come out to play. This is the city’s central business district with its smaller offices, clothes boutiques, and many of the city’s flashiest restaurants and ritziest clubs. The architecture along roads like George Street helps give it a swank and formal feel: it’s a planned Georgian development of regal townhouses, geometric squares, and self-important statues. But it’s also a very wanderable neighbourhood, with a healthy bustle at almost any time of day and fine people-watching in places like St Andrew's Square which fills with picnickers around lunch. You’ll also find a series of cheerful basement bistros on Hanover Street, while dark Rose Street has something of the feel of an undiscovered back alley and is chock-full of characterful pubs and small independent shops.
