Unfortunately I can’t rate it any higher than that. Nothing was wrong, per se. The selection was a bit sparse. The quality was fine.

I’m not a huge sushi fan therefore I can’t say I’ve eaten a lot of it, however this is probably one of the best I’ve eaten. All the other dishes were on par too.

Delicious food at this beautiful restaurant. The surroundings are really relaxed and calm. Various types of tables but my favourite is the private corner if you’re celebrating with a few people. It’s still in the main part but secluded enough to allow you to feel...More

Solo diner staying in Edinburgh. Had a great meal here. Reasonably priced and very tasty food. Would highly recommend if you like sushi. The hand rolls are fantastic and the service was friendly.

I am Japanese, so I would like to think I know Japanese food. The level of authenticity is quite high and the quality is good. Above average of authentic Japanese restaurants in europe. The fatty tuna was quite good.

We popped in and ate quite quickly before rushing on to meet friends but we will be going back and spending a lot more time enjoying every mouthful. It’s a charming restaurant, the service was first class and the food delicious.

Here is the best Japanese restaurant in Edinburgh. The sashimi served here is the best quality in Edinburgh. I experienced the very authentic Japanese food here which was as good as the ones I had in Japan.

We had an excellent evening at Kanpai. The sushis were really good. The service was fast and everyone were nice to us.

West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in
industrial Britain had their most desirable
neighbourhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes.
Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest
citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind
grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel
crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and
sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along

As far as I recall I don't think they do offer an omakase option. My instinct is they are more keen to offer the 'standard' type of service rather than this.
