Purslane is a cosy wee restaurant which offers fine dining in a casual atmosphere with reasonable prices options. The food was fantastic and I look forward to coming back again soon.

I've been a few times to Purslane and have never been disappointed. Great staff, cosy atmosphere and the food is brilliant. To top it off it's great value - high end food at a reasonable price. Not easily found in Edinburgh!

We were treated to dinner here by our son and his wife. What a wonderful gift. We had the tasting menu with accompanying wines. All the dishes were delicious and nicely presented, without the excessive decoration which seems to be the fashion now. The wines...More

Stockbridge & Dean Village
Just downhill of New Town and attractively straddling
a river near the elegant Royal Botanic Garden, it’s
small wonder that Stockbridge became one of the city’s
first hip neighbourhoods. It’s now one of Edinburgh’s
most desirable, though many bohemian touches have
fallen away as its residents have matured and the area
has gentrified. Some second-hand shops cling on, but
mostly residents display refined tastes in basement

Hello due to the premises license children under 6 can’t eat in the restaurant but if they are older they are more than welcome to dine at night.

No, it's in the lower ground floor of a building and has stone steps down to it, which is unfortunate if you are not so able bodied as its a great restaurant.
