Mr Wood Fire is a small snack van which does exceptionally great pizzas at great prices. Having been to Rome and tasting pizza from each country I've visited, I can say for sure this is one of the places I've tried, probably the best actually. The burrata is my favourite, the flavours are incredible, so fresh! The two guys working there are very friendly, accommodating and polite. Highly recommended! Couldn't say enough about this place, I will continue to come back and recommend all pizza lovers to come here! Very impressed!

On recommendation four of us dropped by for a quick dinner on Sunday. Margherita, Marinara and Truffle pizzas with spicy Pannuozo. All perfectly cooked, the dough base really is light with a fluffy crust, just so good. Portion size was spot on and the wait is just a few minutes, they take around 1 - 1.5 mins to cook. Seating area keeps the elements at bay. Danilo is a lively character happily discussing the finer detail of his prep, and his wife's homemade tiramisu, which was also delicious! Fast street food at its very best, quality ingredients and prepared with infectious passion for all things pizza. So worth a wander to the truck!

We rang this place at 21:30 for a diavolo and margerita from our hotel (just across the road from Premier Inn & Novotel!).
We walked over to be greeted by a very friendly Neapolitan who served up two delicious pizzas, topped with chilli oil and Parmesan. The fragrant and juicy tomato sauce is the star of the show and we will certainly be back for more before the end of our trip! No photos because we inhaled them in two minutes!

We ordered a tasty vegetariana pizza, with garlic oil, sprinkled on top, from
Mr Wood Fire (Edinburgh). This was delicious and very filling and one of the best pizzas, we have eaten, with lots of flavours bursting in our mouths. Would highly recommend the pizzas. The owner and his colleague, were very friendly…brilliant fast service. Only wish we could order again and it could be transported to the Staffordshire Moorlands…fantastic . Well done and good luck 👍

Visited on the 27/04/24 as i had travelled to Edinburgh for a concert with my daughters. I'm a big fan of Neapolitan pizza and made special plans to visit Mr Wood Fire and wasn't disappointed - the pizzas were fantastic and the owner was a really nice guy, taking time to talk even when the orders started to stack up. Would wholly recommend visiting if you like your pizza, it really is top notch.

We’ve been traveling all around Europe and we’re laughing at the irony that the best Neapolitan pizza wasn’t in Italy… it was in Edinburgh! We placed an order for three pizzas and a calzone, and the entire order was ready in 10 minutes. It was the kind of pizza you can’t stop eating. When food is made for you by someone who is passionate about their craft, you can taste the difference.

I’m Italian, and this is by far my favorite pizza joint in the city. Danilo, who is clearly devoted to his craft and radiates the most positive vibes, pays the utmost attention to authenticity, customer experience, and—perhaps most importantly—to quality. He only opts for the best, even down to the very wood he uses! Much like his ingredients, some of which are home-prepared, this, too, is imported from Italy. I wouldn’t be surprised if he personally felled the tree and chopped it up himself!

We have been to Mr Wood fire on multiple occasions and have been greeted with warmth and kindness by Danilo each and every time. Mr Wood fire has, by our experience, the best pizzas in Edinburgh. The dough is proofed to perfection and the toppings are fresh and authentic. Furthermore, the homemade Tiramisu is a wonderful complement to the pizza. We could not recommend Mr Wood fire enough to those who love all things Pizza!

I live in the area and was dying to try their pizza so I popped round this week and got myself and my partner a margarita and vegetarian pizza and they were both amazing! They also made them so quickly in like 8-10 mins, so I just went for a quick walk round the block then they were ready. Would definitely recommend! The boys working there as well are so polite and chatty too!

Mr Woodfire is an excellent choice for Italian dinner. The pizza's are great and desserts (made by his wife) are delicious. Mr Woodfire is also a very kind genuine Italian, he knows how to make it a real nice experience for hungry walkers of the highlands.

A gem of a find. We wanted good pizza, and this place is on point. The pizza dough was exceptionally good. The pizza toppings were delicious. The owner Danilo is passionate about pizza and kindly shared his tips for making our own neopolitan pizza dough. Highly recommend for pizza and service with a smile

Dio Mio! Danilo is the man!
I tried Panuozzo for the first time and it was phenomenal. Delicious, filling and way too cheap for what you get! Everything is home-made, from the meatballs, to the sauce, the dough, and you can watch him if you don't believe me! Some really fantastic hearty Italian street food. Also, Danilo is wonderful. Such a lovely guy, friendly, chatty and even gave me recommendations for my upcoming holiday to Italy! This place is gonna blow up by the summer so get there before the queues become too long to handle!

We ordered two pizzas and both were delicious and well made with fresh ingredients. Both were hand made to order while we waited. The van is directly opposite the Premier Inn so was a perfect choice for a night in.

Another great pizza from this fantastic little outfit. I have been here a few times now, started going for the coffee but the pizza is just too good to ignore. Home made Dough, hand stretched, cooked in the woodfired oven, whats not to like!! :) this time i had the truffle pizza topped with sausage, cheese and truffle oil and it was gorgeous. I have never had a bad coffee, pizza or indeed service from these guys. every time its great and every time they are so nice. Everyone in this town should go and check them out.

My partner and I stopped after a long day at Mr Woodfire for a quick bite. It was honestly some of the best pizza we have ever eaten, so good in fact that we went back for more (one each the second time!). It was perfectly situated across from our hotel, and was reasonably priced with a variety of authentic Italian pizza choices. We would definitely recommend stopping here on your next visit to Edinburgh!
