The Hot Toddy was a true jem to find! I visited twice in my 4 day holiday in Edinburgh. The food was fresh and delicious, the staff were fun and great to talk to, a welcoming environment where you could engage in conversation or keep to yourself. Highly Recommend. :)

Great spot with homely spirit. Everyone was very welcoming and it felt like we had walked into the secret garden of local produce and cuisine. We ate a delicious meal washed down with a few (but only a few) refreshing cocktails. Would recommend to all who wish for an authentic and fresh meal that stands above your usual pub grub for originality and price. Cute wee gift shop too full of local treats!

Try the carpaccio starter , it is raw beef but is soooo nice with small bits of cheese and hints of garlic on top!
staff were all very friendly and well presented and knew more than expected about the menu and whiskeys

Hot Toddy had it all - beautiful decor, amazing coffee, friendly staff, carefully crafted drinks - they now do food too so I’ll be back soon for this!
I loved sampling their cocktail menu. And I’m a total coffee snob and their coffee is excellent. A perfect escape from the hustle of Edinburgh. A must-visit.

This really is a hidden gem! I suppose if enough people write a review about the Hot Toddy it’d cease to be a hidden gem but it would nonetheless remain a gem. Lovely atmosphere, great food, great staff. Get there now so that in 10 years’ time you can say you were there before it was an Edinburgh institution. I love the fact that it shuns much of the tartan tat in favour of supporting a genuine local economy too. Authentic and local, no Netflix but loadsa chill.

I love visiting this local spot in Edinburgh, they do great cocktails and amazing food, plus they host a variety of different events. The staff are always so friendly and it feels very homely. Cannot wait for my next visit and if you like supporting local, independent businesses I would recommend stopping by!

Food was amazing! We also tried a couple of Hot Toddys, worth drinking them when it is cold outside.
Paula, our waitress, was outstanding! Warming, caring and totally personalized!
We will definitely come back next time! To eat again and probably try a whisky tasting.

A great place with a chill vibe right in the old town! Drinks selection was amazing, staff know their local beers and whisky well and the place is light and open with a view to calton hill. Would recommend for a nice place to while away a couple hours

Went for drinks and dinner, drinks were all great, food was so good, specially the venison! The presentation of all the food was incredible. The staff were also all very friendly, will need to come back and try the whiskey tasting.

We started with an assortment of various croquettes and they were spectacular. Secondly we chose cachopo, a typical Asturian dish. and I have to say that it is the best I have ever tasted. Each bite was an explosion of flavors. Congratulations to Chef Edu, the restaurant is in good hands.

Something on offer for everybody! Great selection of cocktails, food, coffee and lagers. What more could a person want? Also, love the nature aesthetic!
I come here regularly but took my family for the first time in June and they absolutely loved it as well!

We went here twice, once to get a little snack, and then the second time, we came because we loved it so much. We went to try the full scottish, and it was absolutely amazing. Not a single fault with the location, staff, or food. Wonderful ambience!
Can 100% recommend going, and if we ever visit Edinburgh again, we will probably revisit!

Beautiful space with plants everywhere it feels like a secret garden.
I went first for brunch and tried the locally roasted coffee (I’m a coffee snob and it’s really very good). I had the vegan brunch, and they checked and made everything Gluten Free for me. It’s tricky to find places that cater to both vegetarian/vegan and GF - the staff could not have tried harder.
I’ve been back for cocktails, and for a business dinner. It feels like a space that fits every scenario. Brunch, dinner, work, fun.
It’s top rated in Edinburgh for a reason!

I LOVE this place! Atmosphere is a 10, lovely decor and fantastic staff, always attentive and hands on. Great cocktails and the yummiest food (my pictures don't do justice to the beautiful presentation). I keep returning for more!
My favourite was the sticky tofee pudding and the espresso martini.
I cannot recommend enough the steak tartar and cachopo! You just cannot leave without trying them

Went out for drinks with my friends and loved every cocktail! The selection of local beers was great too.
We also noticed a couple of people having dinner, and I'm definitely coming back for food next time.
