Chilled cafe, nice staff with lots of photos of Pategonia. At the back there are loads of board games to pass the time.

We were there on a busy early Saturday afternoon! Every table was full and there was a mixture of customers in! Service wasn't the quickest but we also at no time felt rushed! I had the eggs benedict and my partner the full breakfast! We were tempted by the nachos so will defo go back! Great atmosphere, friendly staff and... More

After looking online to find the best place for breakfast /brunch the Blue Bear was the one for us,we checked online about walk ins which was ok, but you can book in advance (it doesn't say it's recommended though) so after a lovely walk down to The Blue Bear we were a little disappointed to find there were no tables,but... Thank you for taking time to feedback on your experience. We value all feedback. I am very sorry to hear that you were made to feel unwelcome when you tried to dine with us. Our weekends are incredibly busy. we always keep a few tables for walk-ins and the rest for reservations. I appreciate that a 'reservations recommended' notice would... More

Came here as a group of four for brunch, pretty impressed overall. The service was good and the staff friendly. We were sat at the back with a nice view of the little garden. The portions aren't massive but nicely sized and very tasty - particularly recommend the eggs Benedict. The coffee was also delicious. However, it was quite chilly... More

Hi Thanks so much for your feedback. I am happy to hear that you received good service and that you loved the eggs benedict and coffee. Thanks for letting me know about the orange juice and the temperature. It was a particularly chilly weekend in Edinburgh so i am sorry you felt a little cold whilst eating. More

This is my third review of The Blue Bear. But this time I won't be reviewing the whole experience, like in my previous reviews, rather my two favourite outstanding new additions to their menu. 1. Breakfast burrito - hands down the best breakfast burrito I have had in Edinburgh. It's got everything anyone can expect in a breakfast burrito. Eggs,... More

Food was pretty straight forward, good portion sizes and reasonably priced. Very basic interior, seating, decor - it's OK if you want a fast reasonable lunch. Had a weird youth club vibe. Possibly trying to be hipster?

I've only recently discovered this place even though I have worked around the corner for many years. I've been for lunch here 3 times now and I adore it. I always have the blt bagel and half a soup and it's always just spot on. The soup maybe very simple in description, no fancy combinations just your classic carrot and... More
