Called here for an early evening drink before a meal nearby. Ordered a pint of lager and a glass of Prosecco which came to £13.85!!!! The barmaid laughed when I said that I only wanted a glass not the bottle. "I don't set the prices...More

Nice greeting and quickly seated. Good theming. Full of diners from around the world thinking they are eating good Scottish food. The customer and restaurant could both do better.

What a quaint whiskey pub on the high street. Unsurprisingly, the whiskey menu was comprehensive and the bar offered reasonably priced flights. On top of having great whiskey, the food was delicious, particularly the whiski burger topped with haggis.

The place isn't very big but has quite a local vibe. They have good beer / whisky and both the burger and steak were very tasty. The live (celtic) music also adds a local and lively note to the place.

Squeezed us in on a busy Friday night and we loved it. The haggis tower, rump steak and venison were amazing.

Popped into this bar after the Scotland / France rugby international. The atmosphere was brilliant, with a great mix of nationalities. The staff were all helpful and despite the place being so busy, they made the time to chat. At 10pm the live music started...More

Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its
labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests
this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly
visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers
that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the
place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as
the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal
Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the
