Wonderful variety and creativity in the menu. All food carefully prepared. Very friendly. We came for lunch and then came back for dinner.

We stopped in without reservations and were promptly seated. Excellent service and very good. I had stir fry tofu and noodles and my sons both had the lentil Shepherd’s Pie. Dessert was chocolate soufflé and an apple cinnamon tart, both served respectively with homemade vanilla...More

My fiancè is a vegetarian & this was the perfect place to celebrate his birthday. For a Monday night, it was busy so I'm glad we booked a table. The food was delicious...my favourite meal was the corn chowder as the soup of the day....More

I ordered the soup of the day (which was sellery, leek soup) and the risotto. Both tasty and filling. Personell is also very nice and friendly. Good atmosphere and prices are fair.

Bann’s is a bit of an institution now. It’s a slightly formal restaurant with excellent service. The food is delicious and unusual. I ordered the hummus which I felt might have been a bit boring but was the nicest hummus I’d tasted in a long...More

I visited with my husband and had a lovely meal. It's a pleasant restaurant with really good service. My husband, who is vegan, wasn't blown away by the food but this was mostly because he chose something which is a standard meal in our house....More

First of all, I will caveat by saying I am not a vege or vegan, so this place was out of curiosity as it is always busy. I found the starter (hummus) to be absolutely beautiful, full of flavour - yum! Two minor things; the...More

Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its
labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests
this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly

that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the
place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as
the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal
Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the

I went without a reservation but that was a Tuesday evening and there were only a couple of tables free, I would recommend booking.
