We tried to get a table at the Two Fat Ladies, but it was full. So we went to the Shandon Belles and were pleasantly surprised. Cosy place, good food, good value.

Beautiful little place hidden on the other side of Argyll street. Excellent food. Served by Natalie who made the experience great. She was friendly, kind and approachable. You could tell she was experienced in her job. Loved the decor. Really lovely atmosphere. Will be coming back soon.

Thought this would be a great pace to finish off a day at the BBC Food Show in the SECC. Unfortunately we were disappointed. Like other reviews the service was poor. In fact it was incredibly slow as if there were a couple of staff members down. Now the food when it came was very good and it was at... More

The food is good and the service is ok, but the building is cold which takes away from experience . Not the best lunch experience I have ever had, but being with good friends helped

The food and staff were excellent however the table we had was pretty cramped every time the waitress passed we felt the need to move, so felt the table had been put as an afterthought. Didn't spoil our meal but another table would certainly have made more enjoyable considering we had booked in advance

Dinner at Shandon Belles tonight. The set menu is excellent value for money and the food is good but it really felt like the staff didn't want to be there. Let down by poor service.

My friend and I came to the Edinburgh Gin night . It is excellent value for money . We tasted 4 or 5 different gins with petit fours , had a three course meal- all for around £30. The evening was fun, interesting and the staff were fantastic . Looking forward to the next 'Gin Night '.

First time trying out Shandon Belle and had an enjoyable time. A good but small-ish menu, although complimented by a specials board. I was here with my wife and friends and we almost all ordered from the specials board in the end. Drinks and wine list also a touch on the small side, but we ended up just ordering various... More

Me and my pal had a great lunch here yesterday. I had an itison voucher, and, although I'd seen the great reviews I was still a bit nervous as I've had a few bad experiences using vouchers in seemingly 'good' restaurants. But I needn't had worried cos this place was great. We both ordered the sirloin steak, which was 6oz... More

We came to Shandon Belles for a 2-course lunch. The soup starter was nice but my friend's haggis starter did not have any turnip nor did the bacon cream sauce taste of bacon, or in fact anything. My friend had a chicken pie for her main course that only hard one piece of chicken in it. My main was gnocchi... More
