We have been visitors here on many occasions.I like basement restaurants. they always seen cosy. Even on a Saturday evening with an almost full house it was far from noises. Many tables are set in bothers which helps keep the noise down. The menu is diverse with a strong emphasis on Scottish cooking using locally sourced food. The staff are good at... More

As a first time visitor I can honestly say this restaurant really hit the mark. The food, service and atmosphere were all equally first class. the service was attentive without being intrusive. The barley rissotto with ham hough was to die for and the macaroon with the coffee a very nice touch. all in all a great night and great... More

Visited Café Source most recently on Friday night, 6th March 2015. I have visited Café Source a good few times and it has yet to disappoint. I always try something different on the menu and have been for both dinners and lunches. My dad thinks it is some of the best sausage and mash he has had, and with the... More

Visited with relatives on Saturday night. We had booked through the cafe source website for the theatre menu, £16.95 for 3 courses and glass of wine included, this was a very good deal. The waiting staff were all very helpful and cheerful. The menu was very good, with the smoked salmon starter was lovely, as was the goats cheese and red... More

We went to a birthday party at Cafe Source. The staff were so attentive, friendly and helpful. The food was superb from the cullen skink to the beef daube and the pork belly. It was all delicious. Atmosphere was good too. Would definitely return

Great atmosphere, great food and good value. Will definitely go back. We got the 25 pounds per head plus a bottle of wine per couple. Food was delicious and lovely wine. Just a five minute walk from Merchant city area, so handy for all the bars...this might become a regular haunt.

Cafe Source sits in the basement of the iconic 18th Century St Andrews church. Its a great Glasgow landmark and claimed that Bonnie Prince Charlie's defeated army once camped outside. We camped ourselves in a comfortable booth, in this modern but informal restaurant. Service was very good and we enjoyed our starters of Cullen Skink and pate. Mains of chicken... More

The two pints of "craft beer" for my son and I, for which I paid £4.60 each, might have been described as "religious", with deep clerical collars of foam rather than the full amounts of liquid one might have expected for this price. The salmon bagel at £7.25 which my wife ordered was barely toasted and by her account, very... More
