Came in for a quick lunch and was not disappointed. Food is always good, service is prompt and it's reasonable value for money. Fantastic selection of cakes too and the afternoon teas are superb and great value. While the age profile is certainly "older" there are usually family groups and younger couples/groups who know a bargain when they see it.... More

Sounds like you had a great visit! Thanks for your feedback on the teapots - we have actually been trialling a nice funky coloured ceramic teapot range in some of our restaurants - hopefully if all goes well you will see them soon! More

Afternoon tea here has become a family favourite. It's always busy due to both the quality of the offering plus the price. Great view to Glasgow from the tables near the windows as well as outside

I have been to Caulders many times. There is a great variety of plants but the food is amazing. Excellent quality and fast service. The gift shop also has a great variety of goods. Well worth a visit.

Visited here with friends for afternoon tea. we had a seat at the window with a view of the plants etc in the garden centre and also the wider view out over Glasgow. Afternoon Tea was delicious, as before. A choice of sandwiches with tray bakes, scones with jam and cream and meringues. This comes with either tea or coffee.... More

A lovely way to spend an afternoon, browse the flowers and various garden ornaments, have a leisurely lunch, and finish with a visit to the gift shop which has some beautiful pieces and cracking ideas for Christmas gifts.

Good rainy day experience as it was pelting down outside and the views were non existing but the cakes and coffees made up for the weather. Large dry indoor area and gift shop with a little of everything and helpful staff. Limited range of wines and no selection of beers this time, I thought they had a few on previous... More

Description
Like their two previous centres, Colin and Mandy chose a fabulous site to build their next garden centre. Located out in the country, but only a small 5 minute drive from Mearns Cross and a 7 minute drive from East Kilbride, Caulders Braidbar provides the peace and tranquility of the open countryside however has the convenience of being close to Glasgow and easily accessable. Caulders Braidbar follows in the same ethos of both Mugdock & Kirkintilloch and has its foundations as supplying great plants and garden products. Together with fabulous catering offering great food. The views from The Garden House Restaurant at Braidbar look spectacularly over Glasgow, onto the Campsies and beyond. The gift shop at Braidbar is placed with great and unusual gift ideas and the garden centre is always stocked with a fantastic range of plants. As you wander through the plant sales area you will notice that the garden centre has been built around the historic Gowkstone. This stone is thought to date back to the iron ages, the name comes from the Scotts word Gowk which means cuckcoo. The Gowkstone was a meeting place for the covenants in the 1600's and later was thought to be a special place with special powers - we still believe it is a special place!!!
