ORO - formally known as Bella Napoli - may have felt the blow from loosing many years of reviews, however, I feel this is the perfect way for the restaurant to construct a more up-to-date image. Having visited ORO a few times in the last...More

Everything about it was excellent, Especially the steak Diane (filetto diane) which they made especially for me even though it mad been removed from regular menu. Been there many times and love all their other dishes and excellent service as well.

Liked the new surroundings but didn't think old one was that bad.Nice atmosphere and not cramped. First class service. Good sized portions and prices on a par with elsewhere. This is only the second time I have been here in 5 years , can't say...More

Now "Oro", the restaurant previously known as "Bella Napoli", a culinary institution in the Shawlands area of Glasgow. Thankfully only the name has changed. Still recommended for the welcoming service, the traditional, authentic Italian cuisine, excellent pizzas and "out of Italy" ambience. New sign above...More

Stepping into Oro is like stepping back in time. It's in-your-face 80s styling and artwork is excessive, tacky and frankly - cringeworthy. Columns, partitions and railings are everywhere. It feels closed-off, cluttered, comical and confused. The staff were pleasant, the food was fine, service was...More

Came here for first time with friends, had amazing mussel starters. We all opted for the same starter and just as well as we wouldn't have been sharing! For mains we shared pizza and pasta which again where full of flavour.

First time we have visited the restaurant under its new guise. Welcomed by a professional staff who looked after us throughout. We shared a focaccia to start which was piping hot and delicious. Mrs had the spaghetti bolognaise and I had the Italian style carbonara...More

In the 80s, gold was the epitome of success, class and elegance. Everything was gold, and, apparently, it was the hight of sophistication. Societal taste migrates, resulting in the desires of the past become cringeworthy in the present. Other than the music, which has developed...More

What a sad little review. Glancing at a few of your other reviews, your agenda is very clear. I cant believe you wasted your own time writing such a biased review. Shame on you.

Description
Glasgows pizza connoisseurs know that the best place in town to come for a knock-out Italian feast is Bella Napoli an iconic Glasgow institution on the Kilmarnock Road. With countless awards to his name, head chef Domenico Crollo took Bella Napoli over from his father in 2005, and the art of Italian cookery is in his blood. Flying to Italy to source the best flour, mozzarella and Italian wines, Crollo has created pizza perfection at Bella Napoli, and this vibrant restaurant is a must for any serious lover of great Italian food. Spread out over three levels, this welcoming venue serves everything from espressos and sandwiches to pasta, risotto, burgers, steaks and outstanding homemade puddings.
