Fried haggis and gravy- amazing. Just amazing and a firm favourite. It’s lovely on a cold day after a pint at the nearby pub. Always a favourite!

The fish was a decent size, fresh and flaky, and the batter was light, crispy and tasty. Served in a cardboard container, rather than plastic, so you don't get that offputting puddle of grease in the bottom. What's not to like?

Tried Happy Haggis a couple of times during our holiday. The sea food platter was good but small as a portion. The fish was very good and even the fried haggis was great. The prices are quite moderate and the menu has a good selection...of food.More

Everything is cooked to order and was popping hot. I had scampi supper and ate it on the benches outside. Lots of locals popping in - always a good sign!

The problem with this restaurant/ talkaway is the inconsistent opening times. Normally November is an issue but you can expect that after a busy summer and moving into the winter season but if would be good just to state that they are closed in their...website we can accept that. Wednesday 17 th August 20222 19:30 hours closed again. Standard no sign on the door stating opening hours. Same complaint that they were unhappy with a few years back. Great chippy just a pain when you walk all the way back from the west side of the village to find it’s closed and the website states it’s open.More

At long last, somewhere in Aviemore that's, a) open at good times, b) reasonably priced and c) actually has staff. Really nice fresh chippy.

Driving home (middle of nowhere in the North) from middle of nowhere in Perthshire, took the old A9 from Kingussie for a bit of a change. Hoped I would find somewhere to buy at least a sandwich. Aviemore was VERY busy with pedestrians. Anyway the...first place I saw said "OPEN" - "World Famous Fish & Chips" and luckily a parking space opposite. I'm always looking for a place where they really crisp the batter on the Fish, which is difficult north of Newcastle. I don't even let them put vinegar on because it makes the batter go soggy so I had a pickled onion for a bit of real tartness. The whole Fish Supper comes in a large shallow box, so there's no piling-up of contents. Well . . . . . it was DELICIOUS. Had to wait 5 minutes but it was a quiet time of day and they were obviously just cooking to order. Staff were very polite and cheerful. Sat in my car to eat them. The chips were too many for me but also really nice - and hot. I will always stop there in future.More

Visited here Easter Sunday 2022 - service was take away only, although there were benches outside that customers could sit at on a first come first served basis. Bough some fish and chips - enough for 2 adults and 2 children, with some soft drinks/water...to go along with the dinner. Staff weren't exactly overly welcoming, verging on the side of being a bit grumpy (not sure if this is the norm, or whether working on Easter Sunday wasn't something that they wanted to do). Fish and chips were fine, I wouldn't say anything near the "best ever" as other reviewers have stated. Actual fish portions were tiny, not good value unfortunately. I felt hungry after the portion.More

Poor quality pieces of fish. The batter tasted old and the chips were okay but also didn’t taste fresh. The children had sausages which they seemed happy with so that was a saving grace.

Maybe I’m spoiled with quality fresh fish at all the chip shops in Aberdeen but found the fish supper at the Happy Haggis very average. Fish average. Batter below average. Chips average. Very few food options in Aviemore definitely works in their favour. Closing time...should also be later.More
