relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff. Literally the best halloumi flatbread meal I have ever had! My partner said the same about his burger. We came back for breakfast the next morning too. It tends to be busy at peak times but they give you a remote...More

We were recommended this cafe by Ray, a tour guide at the Dalwhinnie Distillery who said that it was the best food in the area. He was not wrong. I opted for the chowder with a savoury scone and it was absolutely delicious. My husband...More

I don't care for whiskey. This makes no difference to the Mountain Cafe. They made this unbelievable whiskey cake anyway. Better half has raved about it a number of times and I felt compelled to have a bite this time. There was enough whiskey cake...More

New waiting system is better than ever - still worth the wait. New slimmed down menu does not disappoint (though we were sorry to see why - all the best) Service, friendliness quality of the food and the overall experience (read 'cakes') are as good...More

Didn't have to wait for a table and was pleasantly surprised by the breakfast choices. I opted for the vegan all day breakfast and my partner went for the meat options. Both were super with tasty, fresh ingredients and the flavours were great - certainly...More

Nice café with panoramic views. First time in the new premises and was looking forward to the experience. Slow service. Waited 25 minutes for the coffees which were average and then another 15 -20 minutes for two breakfast rolls, by which time coffees were finished....More

Popped in for lunch on Tuesday when I was in Aviemore. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Ordered the chowder with a scone. The bowl was huge and the chowder and scone excellent and warming on a cold day. My only negative feedback is that the...More

We use some of Scotland's best local produce to create healthy, wholesome & interesting food with a Kiwi twist. We opened our doors in 2004 and have been gaining awards and accolades for our antipodean style coffees, delicious breakfasts, superb lunches & fresh home baking ever since. Our service is friendly & casual with a professional team from all over the world. The café offers excellent views of the Cairngorm Mountains - enjoy our balcony area during summer and the cosy log burner to sit by during the winter months. All the pictures are of our food - why not come in and sample our hospitality when you are in the area next?
