Back again after an excellent visit here in 2016 & things are just as good at the Winky. Very good fish & chips & Cairngorm Brewery Beer to match - this time it was Wild Cat @ £2.50 a pint as beer of the week. Staff were just as friendly giving excellent service. We had a nosy through the window... More

We had a lovely lunch here. The scallops were well cooked, the Cullen skink was to die for and all other food good too. Lovely service, very friendly. Quite an expensive menu, but overall worth it.

Looking around Aviemore it seems like you have a lot of choice of pretty mediocre food. Decent fare aimed at keeping everyone in the family happy. This place is a pretty rough and ready local version of a ski resort bar. But, the service is good and so is the food. The starters are big enough to be main courses... More

Very welcoming, busy bar. From the outside it does not look like much. However it is a hidden gem. Great beer and gin selection. The menu is perfect for an evening after adventuring.

We have visited the Winking every time we are in Aviemore. We have never been disappointed. We visited twice this week the burger with haggis was really good and my wife hade the steak pipe which was packed with filling. Our second visit we shared the Chilli beef nachos, a big serving and great flavour all for £8.50. Brilliant. A... More

Over ten years ago when it was a pub with food we only got as far as a few steps in the entrance and left because our feet were sticking to the filthy carpet. This place has been transformed in appearance and is now more food with a bar. It's not a haven for fish eaters and vegetarians and it's... More

Nice menu and friendly staff in a cosy setting. Can get very busy at weekends. Try their Cullen Skink - wonderful.

Had previously visited Winking Owl for drinks and food looked amazing Booked for a birthday meal for party of 5. Great that the restaurant is obviously very popular but on arrival extremely hot and packed We were squished onto a table for 4. Very difficult to negotiate sharing starter with water/ wine glasses. Main courses were good but did feel... More
