We came, we saw, we ate... well, and we drank. Food was good for two hungry walkers and the local beers and spirit selection hit the spot. Good place

We arrived in Fort William at lunch time after a long drive and had a little walk along the high street. We had seen the Grog and Gruel on trip advisor prior to our holiday so we stopped to read the menu - looked fab and had a good variety of classic meals with a local twist! We had read... More

We visited here whilst on our campervan holiday. We more or less had to eat here as we had our dog with us. We ordered out meals and asked for the kids meals to come out with our starters. Dog friendly is a bit overstated, they let dogs in, but that's about it. For £5.35 I would have expected a full baguette not a half one! Staff must have been having an off day as they weren't friendly at all. Not impressed and won't be recommending this place ☹️

Food came in 5 minutes which is always concerning. Soup was flavourless and Tuna sandwich had no mayonnaise. It tasted like it was mixed with tap water! Seems like an alright place for a drink but definitely somewhere I would never want to eat again.

We went upstairs to the restaurant at two minutes to 5pm and were told that we are not open until 5pm. The response from the foreign sounding woman was " we are not open for 3 minutes. Could you go downstairs to the bar and have a drink until we open". We could easily have been given a seat upstairs... More

Quality and range of food was good with reasonable prices. Friendly staff and some very nice real ales. Would certainly go back again.

Great food, good beer and a relaxed atmosphere in our Traditional Alehouse & Restaurant located on Fort William's pedestrianised High Street.
