Saturday 9th July called in for a late lunch. Service was friendly and helpful. All 3 off us had burgers which were delicious. Obviously freshly made and served hot, not barely warm as you get some places. My only complaint and it's a pet hate of mine - why do chefs insist on using chopping boards, baskets etc when a... The Food Stop is situated at the Alexandra Hotel, we had a delightful meal one evening and were served by a very pleasant waiter for whom nothing was too much trouble. It was very good value and we will be dining there again when we are in Fort William.

We are a family group of four who went to this place for an evening meal on Monday 21st June - and wish we had not! Three of the group chose the 'roast lamb' and one (me) the battered haddock. The fish was ok, but nothing like the best I have had - slightly over done - but the chips... More

Good food and reasonably priced. We would go again when in the area. Hubby had a burger and I had the risotto. No complaints.

I had a very nice meal at the Food Stop while staying at the Alexandra Hotel. There is a good menu and the staff were very friendly and polite and the food was served quickly. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and you don't have to be a hotel guest either as it's open to the public. Try it and... More

The food here wasn't very good at best, the portion sizes are small and definitely not worth the prices. I had dry chicken with poor quality haggis stuffed inside. One of our party had fish and chips which only came with 10 chips. The waitress took orders for two of our party before returning some time later to say that... More

The food was mostly very good, but the portions of vegetable accompaniments were very small. I'm sure this could be easily rectified to make eating here a better experience.

Our family of 4 chose to eat here on our first night in Fort William. Restaurant quite busy (seemed like most of the other diners were staying in the hotel) but it was totally lacking in any sort of atmosphere which wasn't helped by the bright lighting and lack of any background music. Food came quite quickly and was well... More

I come here often for lunches and dinner and for not being in a while we decided to go for some lunch. The staff and service, as always very lovely, attentive and welcoming. Unfortunately the food was a massive let down. I had the haddock and chips, for one it didn't come with the mushy peas it states in the... More
