Been to this restaurant on many occasions, alway left impressed, went last week, thought i was in a different restaurant, standards very poor, given a wine glass with a large chip on base nearly cut my finger, cutlery not appropriate for meal, meal not up to standard and toilets in a shabby state. Never even got an apology when we... More

Sorry your last visit didn't live up to the standards of your previous visits We try our best, honestly! Our new seasonal menu using locally sourced ingredients, all dishes cooked from raw ingredients has been going down very well with our customers. Dishes like 'Green Eggs and Ham' -a Ham Hock Terrine with Pease Pudding served with a crispy breaded... More

A combined dining area/bar within the Lime Tree Hotel, we had breakfast at the restaurant as part of our stay with the hotel. The food was fantastic and the range of selection included was quite broad. Service was lovely and the decor beautiful.

From start to finish I cannot fault this restaurant. The menu presented a wide choice, the food was excellent and the staff were attentive. The only thing I would say is that if you are looking for a quick bite to eat this probably isn't the place for you. You can see into the kitchen and there was only one... More

Good Scottish fare on a fairly extensive menu with bonus first dish of goat's milk cheese. Options of seafood and mains from pheasant to more regular beef. Well cooked and well presented

Managed to get a table for Hogmanay at the Lime Tree. It was a six course menu for £50pp. Lovely amuse bouche and a kir royale cocktail on arrival. We were seated in a room just off the main room with 3 other tables, so felt a bit out of it, as the other room was really busy, but the... More

We had an unplanned stay in Fort William waiting for a train and chaced upon The Lime Tree where we sat in The Map room lounge and were served with tea and shortbread biscuits. Looking at the menu and the fabulous gallery of art and crafts we realised we had stumbled onto a gem. The staff were smiley and speaking... More

Walked here from the wonderful hotel the Grange so were already in very good spirits before enjoying a delicious meal and wine. Worth paying for, very much enjoyed the food and the ambiance.

Description
The food philosophy at the Lime Tree is that dishes are made here from fresh, seasonal, locally sourced raw ingredients, then made into something special by our skilled innovative Chef team

'The Lime Tree Restaurant style is one we have come to know as Fiddly Posh Scottish: Lamb with a family tree, duck that went to Gordonstoun, fish that kept its nose clean. All this technically superb, and while served in a part of the country not blessed with an abundance of fine dining, nonetheless worthy of comparison with the cities best. Fort William finally has a heavy-weight culinary destination.'
