This is the 3rd time I've eaten at this restaurant and love it every time . It is quaint and packed with history and a cosy atmosphere with booths for private dining and tables by the window . It is set near the castle and lovely to walk after your meal and pop back for afternoon tea outside at the... More

I have been here before but this time we had my Father with us for his birthday, he is unsteady on his feet and uses a walking stick. The bar area was quieter so we chose to eat in there, the guy on duty could not have been more helpful, getting us a higher chair from the restaurant for him... More

We visited Cawdor Tavern yesterday for a small celebration. Firstly, the young man we had serving us was absolutely lovely and a credit to the tavern. We noticed that the couple behind us were being slightly difficult and he could not have handled it better! Very attentive and charming young man! I had the trio of puddings to start which... More

Very surprised at some of the reviews on the standard of service here. I found the staff very friendly and attentive. The food was excellent, very tasty and competitively priced especially when you consider the setting and location. Yes the decor isn't the most modern but that's not I would expect or want from a cosy little place like this.... More

As a party of 8 we enjoyed a super high tea at the Cawdor Tavern on Sunday. The menu was varied with a good selection of meat, fish and veggie dishes. The cakes which followed were fantastic, and for £12.95 the high tea was a bargain. I was most impressed with the children's menu, too- it has been extended since... More

Not eaten here for a while but came for a midweek lunch and had a very good meal. Not really for the place for a light lunch but we planned on two courses and a lighter meal in the evening. The food was excellent, as were the staff. Can highly recommend.

Thank you for your comments. Delighted you enjoyed your visit. Plenty options on the lunch menu for 2 or 3 courses at lunch time but also plenty lighter bites available too with sandwiches, toasted ciabattas, home bakes etc so I hope we get the chance to welcome you again soon. More
