Great service and food. Met up with family here and it was lovely and relaxed. Excellent food and good value for money. The soufflé was just melt in the mouth delicious. The portion size for lunch was good and we did indulge in the crêpes for desert which were to die for!. Overall a lovely lunch and as we were... More

Had lunch here last week, and it was excellent! Great very well cooked food, superbly made, presented and served by very attentive and polite staff in a pleasantly laid out restaurant. Just one fault....single ply napkins? Why? This didn't detract from an excellent lunch, highly recommended, we'll be back !

Just had a meal there and I can say that it was excellent. I have been to this establishment a few times over the years and they always maintain a high standard. The service was good and the food even better. Highly recommend.

Haven't been to Cafe Tabou for a while. Got an ITISON voucher for discounted lunch/pre-theatre two course meal, so treated my daughter. We had the most delicious meal: Mussels in a cream sauce, Cauliflower soufflé (which was the lightest I've ever savoured!). Followed by Beef Bourgignon with mash and Stuffed chicken supreme with dauphinois. Lovely wine, attentive and friendly service... More

there is something quite special about Cafe Tabou. The setting is very special in St John's Place and although small and intimate you never feel overwhelmed by others. The set lunch we had was diverse and very tasty. We both had muscles as a starter and thereafter Toulon sausage and beef Bourguignon. How authentic is all of that for a... More

Lunch time get together with friends. Food was great, although the restaurant was really crowded and easy conversation was impossible. Clearly it's a popular place, for the more mature customer, but the acoustics could have been better. I'd probably choose other places rather than this one if meeting up with friends in future.

We visited for a Sunday lunch and were very impressed by the service and standard of food. Crusty bread was served with drinks, then starters were double baked cauliflower and truffle soufflé with a spinach and wild mushroom sauce, and chefs salad of smoked mackerel and haddock with poached egg, gruyere, potato cubes and roasted peppers and pesto. Both were... More

Visited Café Tabou with my partner a couple of weeks ago which was our first visit to the restaurant and have to say the meal was beautiful. We both had a starter and main and ordered a portion of green beans with garlic butter which were fab. In addition to their menu they have a special board as well which... More
