Small talk is a real gem.. Quirky old Victorian style tearoom with classical music paying softly in the background.. Great simple style food that your Granny used to make .. with soups that are made with love and passion.. the Cullen Skink is second to none !! And service is always excellent ... book a table before visiting even at... More

This tea room is much more than just a tea room with a great menu of good traditional dishes as well as the scones and cakes. Soups are a speciality, great efforts are made to source local ingredients (and there is lots of information to support this). The tables boast fresh flowers with mismatched chairs, crockery etc - all very... More

I have been to small talk a few times now and the service has gotten worse with each visit. When you arrive you are taken to your seat with menus fairly swiftly and I find I am always asked for a drinks order before I've even had time to consider the number of teas that they have in the extensive... As title suggests, this little tea room really looks "quaint" and old style, great for clients looking for a leap into the past. Unfortunately, once in, the attempt to create an old style gem doesn't quite succeed. Chairs were threadbare, staff had no uniform, looking like they'd just walked in off the street. Not a very clean look so far... More

With coffee shops popping up all over the place where do you go for a "proper" cup of tea. Small Talk that's where. China cups and an array of teas to choose from as well as real home baking. Best Tea shop in Perth.

If you are within about 15 miles of Perth it would be a total crime not to make a detour and lunch on a Small Talk Summer Fruit Scone. They are so big and gorgeous you can think of it as your main course but try to save room to have cake for 'pudding'. The only problem will be choosing... More

Just popped in here on our way to Pitlochry for Christmas and found this little gem . What a treat ..... Amazing homemade cakes , hot chocolate and we were given a tasting of black pudding and haggis from the local butcher. This is an amazing place .

Wonderful and eccentric tea shop. Great for afternoon teas and more hearty meals. Everything fresh baked and local. The oxtail soup was great and. It seen on menus so often these days. Scones with local jam were very tasty. This is what all tea shops should be like!

I had the absolute pleasure of visiting Small Talk in Perth today. I had the homemade oxtail soup and a sandwich of roast beef and horseradish. An Americano with hot milk on the side as well. To say this was an excellent lunch is a huge understatement. The oxtail soup is the best I have ever tasted bar none. Full... More
