McKays had the best fish and chip I have ever had! The fish was seasoned to perfection and cooked crispy. My wife had the mussels (which I tried) and they were also the best! Great food.

Went for a meal on the evening of the Caledonian Etape. Was pointed way through to the back to find our own table, so was wary of what the rest of the service was like. How wrong that first impression was. Menu was good, food was served relatively quickly and service was excellent. I ordered a couple of second drinks... More

Feeling peckish I popped into the fish'n'chip shop for chips only. I have never tasted better chips than this. Perfectly cooked, crisp round the edges and soft in the middle. Maybe a tad more expensive than most but I would pay that if I was eating chips like this every time. Given more time here, I would like to try... More

We only stopped for a drink and sat outside as it was a lovely day. Service was ok and it was busy while we were there.

We sat outside a few weeks ago when the weather was very sunny and had dinner..Neeps and and tatties delicious and a lovely Chicken Caesar salad. Staff very friendly and professional on a very busy Friday evening. We sat inside later and had a drink.Lovely ambience here.We have visited McKays a few times now and have never been disappointed.

Passing through Pitlochry on way north & stopped at McKays. Staff attentive. When our food arrived it was presented well. However, the chips were very 'firm' and not enjoyable. The fish was mediocre. The salad on the plate was composed of a small handful of lettuce leaves - nothing else: no tomato, no cucumber or dressing. We will not be... More

Huge improvement since they moved to table service for food. However the staff are very poor. With the exception of the dark haired girl and the guy who moved from the Moulin the rest of the staff appear to be uninterested in serving drink. They have a problem making eye contact whilst serving, appear to charge whatever they want although... More

Food was really nice and a good plateful of food too. Nice seating inside and out in the sun also. Good selection in the menu. Staff were a bit busy and a few times seen customers waiting maybe a bit longer than they'd like but overall a good place to eat.

Nice place but really overpriced. There were three in our party of which two food orders weren't great but one was ok! We had cocktails but (on admission of the waitress) they'd had no training and weren't good at all.. Staff were really great though and the place looks lovely inside. But like i said really overpriced but i suppose... More
