Based on our experience the other evening I do not understand the negative reviews; our meal was first class and there was nothing to criticize. Each plate was beautifully cooked and presented, and everything was delicious. The chef really deserves praise for this. The waiting staff were welcoming and engaging and we learned that they had been working all day!... More

Have eaten here a few times but not lately as I feel the quality has dropped. This café was always really nice to eat in but they changed the menu and the last time I was in with my brother , who is vegetarian. After looking at the menu we noticed there was no choice for him at all when... More

Called here on the off chance of a table last Friday night. We were lucky & got a table, but looking how the place filled up quickly I would say make a reservation. Particularly if there is a show on in the theatre. We dined from that evenings fix price menu. Which offered good prices. If I remember rightly it... More

Delicious lunch and cocktails ! We were recommended to go here by a local shop keeper and glad we did. The surroundings were informal, pleasant, spotless and relaxing and very attentive staff. The food was fabulous as were the cocktails and all reasonably priced. I would definately visit again.

Despite its name this is not a cafe - at least not in the evenings. Then it becomes a full blown high quality restaurant. Take our most recent visit which displayed the creativity of the chef. Split pea soup with a hint of chilli. A goats cheese Pattie with a beetroot mouse. Liver and bacon with a wonderful mash and... More

Visited here Tuesday morning. Been before but first review. Always have a great breakfast here no matter what I order. Pleanty of options to choose from. Scrambled eggs are delicious. Staff are also very good. Will be back again.

By reading reviews we decided to check this place out. In we went and ordered 2 mini breakfasts. Food was excellent, hot and very tasty. Fully recommend to anyone to try.

Now that we've had both breakfast and dinner here I think its safe to say this is one of Ayrshires best eating houses. The staff are very friendly and efficient, and solicitous, my partner is allergic to fresh cream and although the restaurant was advised of this when we booked both waitresses came to check when we ordered desserts. The... More

Recently went to The Stage door because of its ratings . Unfortunately a dreadful experience we ordered their mini breakfast but the only freshly cooked item on the plate was the eggs! Everything else had been kept hot for ages including the toast which was so dried and crispy it was ridiculous. The plate was red hot which was a... More
