Living in Lucan, this USED to be our local...but it has majorly gone down hill both in cleanliness and staff wise. The whole restaurant and toilets need a major scrub. Dirty floors, sticky tables, filthy bathrooms, ridiculous for a small cafe. The staff are so laid back, we had brunch and they forgot a drink, no cutlery, got the order... More

My wife and I decided over the Bank Holiday weekend to treat ourselves to a nice afternoon brunch without the kids. We chose the Tea Rooms because we're long time Lucan residents and my wife had eaten there previously and found the food quite good. On entering the waiter took our order and we sat and waited for our toasted... More

Three of us went for Breakfast on the 10th July. Place was near empty when we arrived. We place an order for three breakfasts and tea for three. It took 15 min for the tea to arrive and the food never did arrive! After 20 min we requested more tea which never arrived and after 30 min and quite a... More

Is this place ever going to improve? For the first time ever good service! But then I was charged for coffee which is included with the breakfast. While attempting to support local eateries I do return occasionally but I feel it's time to give up on this place.

I suffer with coeliac and asked for extra rashers and mushrooms instead of sausage and pudding with gluten free bread and my partner ordered the full Irish with tomato. After 15 minutes, what we got was disappointing, my partner got half a tomato sliced which was cold with undercooked sausages, pudding, 2 rashers and uncooked supposedly sauted potatoes. I got... Before writing this review, I looked at the previous reviews and was very surprised. My time at the now Bistro 5 was much different. The food was fantastic - really tasty, well-presented and was not waiting longer than usual for it to come. The menu is great and there is something for everyone, with great value for money. The service... More

We were in Lucan Village on Saturday afternoon and fancied something to eat. We were walking passed the Tea Rooms and thought we would treat ourselves. We went in and were seated. It was a nice, relaxed atmosphere. It sounded busier in the section further down. We were given the menus and we ordered our food and asked for two... More

Arrived here on a lovely Sunday late morning ready for a bit of late breakfast/brunch. This is the 3rd time we've given this place a chance. The last 2 occasions weren't up to standard but we decided since its changed hands and now renamed Bistro 5 we'd give it another shot. We were shown hesitately to a table that wasn't... More

I have lived in Lucan a number of years now and I have came to visit here more often than I wanted to due to how local it was to me. The food is alright, I cannot complain to much about it but the quality of service is what really puts it down. I was scammed the first time around.... More
