Came here with relatives who are visiting from Melbourne and who regularly choose Lebanese/Middle Eastern restaurants there. From the very start, Emilio made us feel so welcome at Damascus Gate. He was so helpful when it came to menu choices and recommendations, ensuring our starters/meze’s...complimented our choices for mains. Every one of our dishes were delicious - truly authentic Middle Eastern cuisine, mouthwatering lamb!. Portion sizes generous and the Lebanese wine we chose was perfect. All in all, delighted we came here and will make sure we return soon.More
Spending 3 nights in Dublin to sing Mozart Requiem and found this nearby our bnb on first night. Excellent food service and ambiance. Would recommend
Unbelievable food and warm vibe. Perfect evening meal in Dublin and staff couldn’t be nicer. We ordered a mezze sharer and a couple of starters and it was unreal
After first visiting two years ago, we were excited to return to this authentic gem of a restaurant. The staff are warm and welcoming, the food sublime. We tried a selection of mezze and other starters - the kibbeh were particularly good. Rounding things off...with a Knafeh to share, we left full, happy and excited return again in the future.More
What a gem of a place! The food was absolutely delicious and reasonably priced. The ambience in there is lovely too. What made our experience absolutely fantastic was our waiter who went above and beyond, I can't remember his name but I think he was...from Italy. If you're reading this-thank you for such a good experience! Would highly recommend trying this place ❤️More
Brilliant service. Phenomenal food. And lovely staff. I’m gluten free and they could at have been more informative about what I can eat. And making it accessible. Recommend
Had a lovely dinner here, food was delicious, we had a mezza to share and then a lovely veggie main. Service was great and staff were really helpful. Would highly recommend for dinner for 2 or bigger groups.
Damascus Gate was extremely good! The food was outstanding and the portions were very generous. It was a very welcoming place to eat as the owner and all of the waiting staff were super hospitable and friendly allowing for a really nice environment. Will definitely...be returning here!More
The best Middle Eastern food in Dublin. You cannot fault this place. Everything was sensational. We were warmly greeted by Amelio who was very attentive and helped us choose from the menu. It was hard to choose what we wanted because everything sounded so good....Plenty of vegetarian options. Food and service were phenomenal, must visit if you are in the area. We will be back soon! Thank you :)More
Very friendly, chilled, professional and with exquisite food. We were told about the food once we sat down and were recommended platters to suit the number in the party. The Baklava was the best, unusually light and not to sweet.
It's a great place for functions dinner and business ones. I enjoy the Maklobah and mixed grill with hummus and babaganouj. I recommend it for small and big gatherings.
It was my first time eating at Damascus Gate and I was looking forward to it, as Middle-Eastern food is my favourite cuisine. I enjoyed our lunch but wasn't overwhelmed, either with the service, which was brisk but not particularly friendly, and with the main...course which was adequate, but nothing to write home about. However, the falafel and tahini starter was delicious. There wasn't much of an atmosphere: perhaps we visited during that dead zone between lunch and dinner.More
The 10 of us enjoyed a fabulous, unhurried lunch here! As a coeliac it was great to have such a range of wonderfully tasty food to choose from. Incredibly reasonably priced and lovely staff. Recommended.
We had been looking forward to dining here for some time, and had been salivating over their menu which we had downloaded previously. Although only two of us we were placed at a spacious table for four, even though the dining room was clearly busy...(at 7pm). The restaurant has recently had to cease its policy of BYO wine, but the Maitre D' very kindly allowed us to enjoy our own wine with main course and we had aperitifs from their excellent list. The MD suggested a Mezza for two to begin, perhaps followed by a mixed grill. We chose the Jerusalem Mezza, and have to say that although everything was excellent, the baba ghanouj was in a league of its own. In future we may just order this one dish as our starter. Daddy was truly spoiled!! For main course my wife enjoyed Makloubeh (chicken) and I had the Kabseh (lamb), both served with rice, the quality of which was exceptional in both instances (certainly not just a filler!). Because we had eaten so well with our mezza, neither of us was able to finish our main course (they are generous portions), and the staff did offer us the opportunity to package up as a takeaway. We shall definitely return to a place that has a reputation with visitors and locals alike. Thank You.More
