Everything I've ever eaten here I've enjoyed, even if it is something I usually wouldn't like the chefs here make it taste good.

Lovely place, lovely ambience and friendly staff....BUT...Possibly the smallest half lobster I've ever eaten. More eating in a couple of prawns. Fillet steak was ok with a bit of sinew. Sommelier is always great. Creme brulee was ok. Not a vanilla pod in sight and still raw sugar on the top. Stick to what they do best.. The striploin with... More

Both my partner and I have been coming here for a few years now when we visit Galway. We went on Wednesday night after Christmas because I had wanted somewhere special to propose and it turned out to be a beautiful evening in all respects. The food and wine were lovely and we were made feel so special after my... More

We only heard of the restaurant because our cabbie recommended it. We had to wait for our table but it was soooo worth it. The fillet steak was incredible, the wine outstanding and the atmosphere fantastic. The pianist was also brilliant. Loved it!

For a nice evening, you need good company, good food, lovely atmosphere and nice staff. It is a good sum up for this evening of treat. I took the beef Rossini, the beef was deliciously tender! Wine was good, you can even treat yourself with a kir for aperitif (which we did!) My only desappointment: I've ordered a Tarte Tatin... More

Had dinner with a group a couple of months back. It was ok. We had a very restricted menu. I had steak which was ok - not the best or worst I've ever eaten.

Absolutely love this place! It never disappoints, their set menu is unrivaled for value and quality. Their steaks are delicious and the selection of mini starters and desserts are always amazing. On my most recent trip I went with my boyfriend and two friends who had never been, they loved it, the food, wine and atmosphere was fantastic and the... More

After much deliberation we decided to eat where so many people had recommended, Rouge Restaurant. We could not have asked for a better experience! The food was absolutely incredible and the service was flawless we made a reservation for 8:30 and we were welcomed so warmly and given the menu and seated. They all seemed to be french which really... More

Late night dining is usually limited to fast food in Galway, but Rouge is probably the best exception! We went in to a packed restaurant just after 10, had a short wait but the staff say it at a couch when they could. We had delicious cheese plates and a couple of side dishes as we didn't want the full... More

The menu isn't huge, but it's done very well. The bread was excellent. The amuse bouche was in fact several starters: a delicious soup, a goat's cheese croque monseur, a smoked salmon blini and meat filled pastry. The cheaper menu was steak or the more expensive included a topping of foie gras or a lobster option. Lobster it was. My... More

French food, wine bar (over 80 different types of French wines coming from small vineyards), cheese and cured meat platters, fresh local lobster, fish tank, open late every day. Food served until midnight Established in 2011,trying to offer you French home style cuisine. Influenced by the rich culture we come from of food together with great wines. The idea here in Rouge is sharing at the table.
