Late night dining is usually limited to fast food in Galway, but Rouge is probably the best exception! We went in to a packed restaurant just after 10, had a short wait but the staff say it at a couch when they could. We had delicious cheese plates and a couple of side dishes as we didn't want the full... More

The menu isn't huge, but it's done very well. The bread was excellent. The amuse bouche was in fact several starters: a delicious soup, a goat's cheese croque monseur, a smoked salmon blini and meat filled pastry. The cheaper menu was steak or the more expensive included a topping of foie gras or a lobster option. Lobster it was. My... More

We shared a great night out with the guys, starting in the restaurant Rouge. We had the 19€ menu, which we loved and we shared a cheese platter. We also had a couple of bottles of wine and ordered desserts. We totally loved it and the service was very friendly. I'll definitely come back!

Absolutely adore this place. Beautifully presented starter ,which is routinely changed and so I am always pleasantly surprised with each visit. Succulent steak is consistently cooked to perfection, very refreshing in a city where overcooked steaks seem to be all too common . Not at Rouge, the meat is melt in the mouth delicious. Ambience when I last visited was relaxed... More

I was in Galway on 20th and looking for somewhere nice to eat. Had passed by Rouge on several previous visits to the city so I decided to try it this time. Well, it was so good I went back again the next night for more. 'Nuff said!

The wait staff spoke fluent French (the customers next to us were French). The restaurant had a stonewalled basement wine cellar feel, comfortably intimate and romantic. My husband and I enjoyed a delicious 3 course steak and wine dinner. Only disappointment was that they didn't have gluten-free bread (bummed me out, because every other Irish restaurant had). But the piano... More

Loved this restaurant, went for a romantic meal for the first time dinning in Rouge and it did not disappoint. A selection of starters which were all fantastic followed by a great steak with blue cheese sauce with a plate of individual desserts to finish all of which were lovely. Would highly recommend due to the great atmosphere (you will... More

a really nice atmosphere with a pianist playing on a grand piano. Soak up the atmosphere the a aperitif and listen to the music while looking at the menu. the menu is easy to follow and I think the chef takes his food seriously. It is easy to follow and although some might think the choice is limited - there... More

Nice restaurant, friendly french staff and lovely wine. About the menu: the starter was very tasty. Main course:I had.half lobster which was the size of a prawn, so a bit disappointed. My partner had a steak and bearing in mind the high quality of beef we have in Ireland, it was nothing special at all. Overall, I would say that... More

Our hotel recommended this restaurant and we managed to get a table only because of a short notice cancellation. The vine is awesome, the staff are all French and friendly! A gentleman on the piano played all kinds of lovely songs. The menu is not complicated with something for everyone. The waiter recommended our wine which was spot on! We... More
