I came here with a few friends for breakfast after hearing good things about it.. how wrong was I! The service was poor and the food was bland, my beans were way undercooked, to top it all off it was incredibly expensive, avoid.

After visiting the museum that afternoon came across this restaurant and decided to return for dinner. 8ish entered up the stairs into a dark but lovely setting. Food and wine top notch, service courteous and professional. For mains we choose the Hake and ribeye and would highly recommend both.

Me & my partner read great reviews so we thought why not...let's see if it lives up to the hype....We were not let down! The restaurant is so atmospheric with a real romantic west of Ireland feel. Down at the docklands of Galway city. The staff were super on it, catering to what ever we needed , ice cold water... More

Just imagine a charming traditional irish house, decorated with antiques, over the harbour. It is like entering a very special world. The don't miss the fresh and juicy sirloin steak, put over a lay of potatoes. I just don't remember the rest of the meal... I must add that I am not really a meat-eater, but the Ard Bia experience... I was expecting Ard BIa to be a bit kitsch and touristy given its' location. However I was very pleasantly surprised! The venue is lovely and tables are well spaced. Delicious homemade breads and homemade kale butter (!) - very tasty. There were great veggie options and local produce. It all feels very healthy, but filling and beautifully served. A... More

The menu is varied with really interesting combinations. We tried some of the vegetarian options and these were delicious as were the meat dishes. Beautifully presented and strong flavours. The service was attentive and friendly and the layout is bit quirky with alcoves. All in all it was a really enjoyable dinner. Excellent food with a varied and interesting menu... More

Had booked table a few months ago to meet up with friends for last Saturday night. Received text on Sat stating that restaurant was closed for night as emergency. Presumed this was a personal issue and was totally sympathetic and understanding . Believe now it was a mechanical or electrical problem. Firstly would have though phone call would have been... Have always gone back for the tea. It's probably just normal tea but the atmosphere just makes it feel better! Love popping in here.
