I recently visited Ard Bia recently and it was so good the first time, we went back the day after for more! It is a must when visiting Galway! I had the pancakes the first morning and they are unbelieveable! I could have eaten ten of them, the chef has a serious skill! The second morning, i had the fry... More

This was intended as a relaxing evening, but engagement with the staff in relation to the contents of a specific main course delivered to the table resulted in an exchange which culminated in my being told such questions were first word problems and not really relevant if you lived in Syria! The food seemed fine but the overall experience was... More

As always, the atmosphere and location of Nimmos was brilliant. I had dinner there recently, the food was just perfect, so tasty. The service was professional and friendly. I think the food was the best I had in a restaurant to date! I've eaten in Ard Bia before when it was on Quay street, but sometimes the food then wasn't... More

A visit to Galway is always a treat - as is a return visit to Árd Bia. We ate dinner here on New Year's Eve. Great buss in the restaurant. Food as good as ever. Do not miss a visit here.

We were early and famished on a winter evening. The food was fine, if steeply priced. Aspect that grated was the 'pretentiousness' of the place and a lack of heart by the staff, as if they were merely 'going through the motions'

Ate here twice during our week's stay in Galway. The restaurant is located right by the river in an old cut stone building. We ate in the snug on both occasions. They use mostly local and seasonal produce. Food was delicious and innovative. Desserts were amazing...the orange chocolate, mascarpone trio was to die for.... Will be back next time we're... More

Love this place! We went twice during our 3 day visit to Galway, from Switzerland. The ambience is really lovely, we were seated in the gorgeous whitewashed snug room, by friendly attentive staff. The food is seasonal, using local small producers, and really tasty! Everything was good, starters, mains, deserts and wine. The filtered water was a plus, and another... More

I love to eat in Ard Bia—be it breakfast, lunch, or Dinner. What makes Ard Bia extra special for me is the accommodating and welcoming staff. After the staff is the food, the wine, and the ambience of the place. Regardless of what meal I am eating, I love to sit at the bar.

A rustic feel and perfect for a place to relax and enjoy a good meal in Galway. Everything was healthy but filling without paying a ridiculous price.

Such a perfect little place. Great ambiance, Great wine and even better food. Nothing was overdone and the flavors of the food were really simply celebrated. Starting with the cheese board boasted some of the best cheeses I've had. Loved this dining experience.

We believe in having roots in a place whilst having an identity that transcends location and takes inspiration from around the world.
