The pus is there since 1342. the stories tell about Alis kyteler the first owner who killed 4 husbands and while doing so got really wealthy. the pub since then is a wonderful meetup for beer lovers, adventurers, and packs who wishes for a great music, snugs and a sense of medieval times... highly recommended

Everything was ... average. We spent our dinner listening to average music (80's rock and roll). Not what I expected for dinner at the oldest pub in Kilkenny. I know that there were other areas of the pub that had traditional music but I had expected that in the dining area, too.

Ideal spot! Music at 6, 8 & 10 to suit all tastes. Very large pub so finding a quiet spot away from the music if you want is easy. The downstairs area is in a class of its own architecturally and historically. Very comfortable bar and easy to enjoy yourself there.

This restaurant/pub was recommended to us by the staff at our hotel, and we are so glad we went there. The night we went, they had a small band playing traditional Irish music. A storyteller and historian told tall tales and some true ones, including one about the "witch" who resided at Kyteler's Inn almost 700 years ago. (You can... More

Don't know anything about the food there but can definietely recommend as traditional bar with live music, tasty Guinness & great craic like Irish would say. If I'm back in Kilkenny I'll try the food there as well.

Stopped here twice, once for dinner and then later on in the evening for a pint and to listen to music. Comfortable atmosphere, authentic feel

Great atmosphere on a Wednesday night. We didn't eat so can't comment on food. Bar prices reasonable.

We were tipped off to go here to eat for the Live Music offered from 6-8pm upstairs on the Saturday before Easter! We were so happy we came! The Inn itself is so neat inside. We recommend checking out each level. The basement is like a cellar/cave and was full of local people enjoying the match or hanging out with... More

Some of the best live music we heard in Ireland! They have a great selection of alcohol as well. From Beer to Gin to Whiskey. This is also a historic landmark, so it is very cool inside. A must visit place!

A fantastic, traditional Irish pub with a great atmosphere. We ate here as a family of 6 and all thoroughly enjoyed the delicious food. Staff were friendly & helpful. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Kilkenny!
