We always book into the Acorn for a meal when we are back in Ireland. The staff are very attentive and Greg and Carmel are so welcoming. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing and the tables are arranged so that you have privacy and comfort when dining. On this occasion my husband had a steak which was cooked to perfection... More

We always love our visits to the Acorn in Tullamore. It is always a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere engendered by the owners Greg and Carmel. The table layout is such that you are never sitting too close to the next table and you can have a lovely intimate meal. The attention to detail in the service is second to... More

Ordered the meal, this was an ordeal in itself but adding house wine to the list was too much for the owner! We decided to walk. Try the Blue Apron, right beside and far, far friendlier.

Few months ago i booked a reservation here one night so my girlfriend and i could celebrate a special occasion . When i arrived the very rude owner had said our reservation was taken so we had no where to celebrate . The owner should be more polite and treat customers more nicely . He has stopped us from ever... More

This is the little gem of Tullamore. Having been vegetarian for years it was over whelming to be presented with a page of meat free choices. (Not forgetting you meat eaters who had ample choice too) The food was delicious, the staff friendly and attentive and the bill totally reasonable. We spent an extremely pleasent evenong in the Acorn &... More

I have been to this restaurant many times. The food is terrific. The chef, Greg, is also the owner and consistently puts out the best cuisine in Tullamore. The wine list is limited and the décor a bit dated but all is compensated for by the quality of the food. good value too!

The attention to detail is very good here. The menu is pleasant and affordable .The fish cake starter is superb .Nice variety of mains with well cooked vegetables with a lot of butter. The bread and butter pudding is to die for. The location could do with some improvements to the furnishings.
