Superb lunch in convivial surroundings. Fresh home-made food at sensible prices. Louise is a most hospitable hostess.

Eaten there many times and never been disappointed. Friendly host. You need to book at peak times. A wide range of northern classic dishes.

We enjoyed dinner here while staying at a nearby B&B. I had read other reviews of the steak and ale pie - and I can confirm it is as good as everyone says! Other meals were also delicious and freshly cooked. Good beers and wines too, a delightful evening!

This restaurant was recommended by some of the rural residents. It was well worth the drive. The hostess was friendly and interesting. The meal was delicious.

We had a nice meal here - good quality and pleasant staff. Plenty of parking around the back. I had vegetarian cannelloni and hubby had steak and ale pie which were both very good. Cost of both plus 2 drinks £35. Only criticism is that when we looked on web site no reference to vegetarian options. My husband rang up... More

A repeat visit for us. When we called last time the snow was blowing horizontally past the windows. This time it was wall to wall blue skies of late summer. To sit in the garden here in such circumstances is bliss. Add to this lovely food, Black sheep Ales and the friendliest, most charming and helpful Landlady who along with... More

Went here twice for dinner when we were staying nearby. Great to find a pub that hasn't been modernised and described as a "bistro pub". Just how pubs should be with very good food and a friendly atmosphere.

A lovely place to eat and drink in a super village setting. Food very good at a reasonable price with very chatty polite staff who can't do enough for you. Well worth a visit.

Had dinner here on a Friday evening. It was very busy and popular with locals as it is located away from the main road (Skipton Road). Worth the visit if you want to visit traditional British pub with good English food. Good selection of beers although food is a bit expensive.

We went here twice in four nights, it's so good. The fish meals in particular were superb. Not your usual pub food, this is top class.
