A quiet birthday dinner while staying locally and just looked for the nearest pub. What a find. Four different plates of food and all of us complemented the chef. The food was great the service was efficient and friendly and comfortable if that makes sense?...More

Yet another lovely meal at this gorgeous pub. The staff were young and charming and made an effort to make an off menu Halloumi dish for our vegetarian daughter. It was great with roasted veggies. Hope to see it on the menu next time. There...More

A couple of pints of very refreshing Theakstons bitter preceded a very hearty pub meal with extremely generous portions that left us all well sated. The range of appealing options on the menu made it very difficult to decide what to have - which only...More

Although service was a little slow the wait was well worth it. The food was outstanding! My husband and I had the steak which was perfectly cooked to our liking (medium rare) and seasoned to perfection. It is fair to say that this was the...More

We called in today unplanned. The rooms were quirky and interesting and nice because it wasn't the over stylised corporate style. Staff friendly. Menu was great, we choose the specials, belly pork slow cooked. It was stunning. The sauce/gravy was so tasty and crackling amazing....More

We visited on a very wet Easter weekend. The pub was quiet as we had missed the lunch rush. The pub is quaint and full of character. We sat in the conservatory with views over the hills. I ordered sausage and mash with a black...More

The Traveller’s Rest dates from the middle of the 17th Century and offers fantastic views over Crimple Valley, and for those twitchers amongst us don't forget all the Red Kites we have flying by and the white crow that roosts in the tree opposite. This quaint, rural pub is one of two pubs on the famous 'Ringway Walk' around Harrogate which runs along the private lane where the Traveller's Rest is situated. We are a stone's throw from the affluent spa town of Harrogate so you have the best of both worlds. The interior boasts old wooden beams, a stoned floor area and also a light airy conservatory which leads to the garden area. This is a perfect place for a celebration or get together for a function. The enviable position of the Traveller’s Rest is what makes it a very special destination, for a lovely meal or relaxing drink of traditional beer or glass of wine. We welcome local regulars, ladies who lunch and, given the walks around us, muddy boots and dogs! We even provide water bowls for our four legged friends.
