You can see why it has a red rosette from the high standard of the food and lovely presentation. The fillet was one of the best i had, and special of lamb beautiful. The wine list was very good with a good range and great value Staff so friendly, which makes a difference. Will be back in the summer as... More

Booked a table to visit for late lunch. The restaurant was empty but we were seated close to the toilets and walkway to hotel rooms so felt in the way as guests were checking in. Easily avoidable to have seated us elsewhere. Food was good but service was disappointing and can only be described as adequate at best, this place... More

We were going to Cheltenham races so looked for a hotel close by. We booked the Ballard suite which was a 2 bedroom suite costing £225 for bed and breakfast. On arrival the hotel we were greeted with a warm welcome and shown to our room. Bedrooms spacious and modern whirlpool double bath, lounge area a little dated. We went... More

Popped in on the spur of the moment on a Thursday afternoon with my Mum (who had visited previously earlier in the summer) - Wasn't sure where to find it but finally located it just off the A40 between Gloucester and Highnam - signs aren't that easy to spot but ok if you know it's there! **Would advise ringing beforehand... Following our visit the hotel / restaurant sent me their own review sheet to fill in, which was on the whole good, the room was nice, clean and comfortable. The thing is, it isn't a hotel, it's a restaurant with rooms and the restaurant is empty and lacking in any atmosphere and a little expensive to boot. So overall, would... More

I had been bought four twenty pound vouchers for my birthday, the people who had bought these live in Devon, they bought the vouchers for me to use at the Over Festival a brochure was enclosed with the tickets. On trying to book, I was told that these cannot be used when there is a festival on. Surely a gift... More

My wife and I stayed in the hotel as an overnight rest stop (16th Aug) on our Lands End to John O'Groats cycle. The menu choice was excellent and the food was beautifully presented and tasted great. We have had to suffer a few poor meals since leaving Cornwall so it was so nice to get eat tasty and flavoursome... More

Visiting based on a recommendation, we found the restaurant clean, comfortable and welcoming. Service was good. The roasted fig starter was delightful and the pork was foursome and well cooked. If you've left no room for dessert, settle for coffee with 6 mini treats on the side! Very pleasant with a lovely outlook too

I would not consider this to be a hotel more a restaurant with rooms I had the ground floor superior, no views, noisy from main road and meant leaving building and walking outside Room nicely appointed, good mix of teas and coffees but if being picky as separate from building a bottle of water would have been nice The undersheet... Description
An AA Red Rosette restaurant serving quality freshley prepared produce. We would strongly request and advise advance Reservations. signature dishes such as Venison rolled in Walnut with a sauce of red currants with a hint of Dark Chocolate. Please note that we do not have a childrens menu but welcome young diners who will not disturb our other guests and wish to experience the normal a la carte menu. Our menus are designed as three courses, with side dishes available for those who wish, but the option to choose less courses if you wish less. We also offer both an Original and Vegeterian 7 course Tasting menu. We would recomend bookings at least 48 hours in advance
