Arrived in Basingstoke to meet up with family, went to the nearest pub, and what a pleasant find. Cosy, helpful, good wine and good food. No rush for us to leave even when they were busy. Deffo go back again.

Highly recommend this lovely pub and it's not a chain pub, great staff and service very welcoming, food was great and exactly as the menu described (homemade) I had the burger with the chunky handcut chips and was very tasty and filling, some great ales and nice glass of wine, will be visiting here again it's a great place to... After my sister and I have just had the misfortune of eating and having a drink at this pub!!!!!!!!!! We both had a so called steak burger. The mince burger was Dry. Tasteless.like cardboard.the bacon was rock hard .no flavours at all. And the so called home made chips were frozen ones. Awful .And to add insult to injury. We... More

Two of us arrived on a quiz night as the advance guard of a quiz team of 5, I wanted to have a meal. We had forgotten to book (which I admit we should have done). They couldn't have been more helpful, found us a little table so I could have my meal (fish and chips, very nicely cooked as... More

Great for a pub lunch. Service is quick enabling you to meet up with friends in a lunch hour and the food is good with generous portions and hand cut chips! It is also good for a meal before the theatre due to their efficiency and my husband and I have done that the last few times we have been... More

We popped in for a pint while waiting for a mobile phone to be repaired. Fancied a proper pub instead of a chain one. A quiet pub for a pint (two) of decent beer with no loud music, good to stop in for if you want a quiet drink, menu looked nice but we didn't partake this time

We were unable to visit on Quiz Night and anyway our team had been unavoidably disbanded due to two of our members moving to Corfe; but good- they are now back and quizzing is set to resume for us in the New Year. The Queens is traditional -the menu at Christmas tide is unchanging and predictable - only the prices... More

A group of us visited for a work lunch. We were all served together and the food was tasty - I went for the steak and stilton baguette which was good, as were the chips!

Old style pub packed on Friday nights loud music good atmosphere very friendly chef landlord very busy not a people's person better in back office! £2.50 for tasteless coffee served on a tray with dirty chipped sugar bowl is a total waste of money. The desserts are frozen but main meals ok and large portions. I'd come back ... but... More

Having read some mixed reviews we weren't sure but decided to visit while we were in Basingstoke and glad that we did. The Queens Arms is a 'proper pub', unlike most around the town centre. it is close to the station and near to The Anvil for a drink before or after performances. It is cosy with friendly staff and...
