I came here for dinner with my husband for a date night, having previously had breakfast here with friends. We ordered the crispy sesame chicken and squid and chorizo starters for us to share. The chicken was a tad overdone but otherwise tasty with a lovely dipping sauce, the squid was well cooked but unfortunately came out cold. We were disappointed with the size of the starters as well, the squid dish came out with only 4 tiny rings, that wouldn't be enough for one person as a starter, let alone two, and to be paying £5 per starter, I expected more food.. Mains were better and not, chicken cooked beautifully and my husband enjoyed his burger. We decided to treat ourselves to dessert too, the apple tart was very tasty but I would have liked a bit of cinnamon in it, and my husband loved the chocolate bombe. They make a good classic Old Fashioned too! Overal it was a good experience but little tweaks need to be done to really push it up a notch.

We went to The Cosy Club last night for a family dinner. The waitress was very friendly, but our evening was slightly spoilt by the length of time we had to wait for our food - 1hour and 40 minutes! People who arrived long after us were fed before us, so we’re fairly sure that somewhere along the line we got forgotten. When we eventually complained we got a free drink, free bread and 20% off the food, but it was still a bit upsetting. I’d say to the management that surely on a Friday night that’s fully booked it shouldn’t be a surprise that it’s busy; we were told by the waitress that there was an unexpectedly large number of orders! So in summary - lovely food, badly organised!

It's funny when you go to a chain and expect the same consistency across the branches. I ordered the tapas but it didn't come with bread (unlike at the Lounges). My meal came with a soft drink, yet I wasn't offered one as part of the deal. The meal check came after I had finished eating the main course yet the waiter seemed completely oblivious. The food was hot, tasty and well presented though. Desserts are quite expensive (at £7 a plate) for their small to average portion size. The dessert menu is limited to three items although the main menu offers much better variety - but still not steak frites like there used to be. The staff were largely of untidy appearance and one even had bright-green hair. The place was otherwise clean-looking. The manageress did well to explain the bill clearly and politely when we asked about the tapas offer and for that helpfulness, my partner left a tip. The visit was unremarkable otherwise and we weren't particularly made to feel valued. We were just another customer here. To improve, the meal check could be during the main course and I could have been offered a soft drink (as part of the tapas deal) when I ordered.

Hi, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review on your recent visit. We so are sorry to hear that you felt your visit was unremarkable and that you didn't feel valued as we strive to ensure that each and every guest leaves feeling splendid. Cosy club is the sister company of Lounges and, although we have the same approach to our guests experience, we do have different menu items and pricing, however we are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your meals. We are disappointed to hear that the service did not meet our usual high standards and that you felt the some of our staff were untidy, we do encourage our staff to bring their personality and uniqueness to work as we pride ourselves on being a little eccentric and out of the ordinary. We do hope you will give Cosy another chance in the future. Kind regards, Natalie

Went with the family . Service was bad over an hour to get our mains portions are small . I ordered a vegan desert, first one the waiter brought out was the wrong vegan desert . When they brought the second one out I asked if it was definitely vegan and the waiter said it was definitely 100% vegan. I knew it wasn’t what I ordered and checked on the normal menu and it was the salted caramel cheesecake. When I spoke to the manager he was very apologetic and said he wouldn’t charge me for it. I couldn’t believe he wasn’t going to charge me for something that I hadn’t ordered and wasn’t vegan 😡. He said the cheif had said it was vegan . Doesn’t really give you much hope if the cheif doesn’t know what he’s serving from his kitchen. Won’t be going back

Upon arrival we were met by a member of staff who didn’t know how to smile, it was like he was at a funeral he was that miserable. Our waitress was ok but we waited a while for her to come over and during the evening our empty cocktail glasses remained on the table throughout the night. The waiter who brought our after dinner drinks was very nice and professional, there was also another male waiter who was very smiley and engaged with us. The food was mediocre and the service was obviously not great because we were there for longer than our allotted 2 hours, it’s a good thing that they were not fully booked. I wouldn’t go again. It’s also very dark in here, not cosy just dark. I won’t be returning.

I visited for the first time at Christmas for a Christmas meal with my work colleagues. I was given a voucher entitling me to a free hot drink in January and my friend also received one. We visited at lunchtime today to get our free drink, only to be told that the voucher was only valid if you bought a meal! It doesnt say that on the voucher though, does it? We mentioned this to the chap serving, but he just kept saying it was given out by the restaurant and not the bar. You are still one establishment though, i dont see you charging different prices for ordering in the bar over the restaurant. V. Misleading! Needs to be made a lot clearer. It mentions it on the free bottle of wine voucher but not the hot drink. Are we supposed to be mind readers or something? Needless to say we left without purchasing anything. I'll just remember to stick to Costa's in the future.

We went on a Tuesday evening and were greeted by a slightly irritated member of staff who acted like it was a chore to seat us. When seated we got a lovely view of a red tiled wall so can't comment on the decor as it obstructed our view entirely. I asked if we could move and was told they were fully booled despite the restaurant being empty apart from a large group in the alcove and a couple of people on other tables. Given this was a Tuesday night and there were other empty tables set up for two people this came off as a bit of a fob off. The chap who actually served us was lovely and very attentive despite obviously being busy with the large group behind us in the alcove. We did have a bit of difficulty waving people down but generally he was very attentive and friendly. Both myself and my partner really enjoyed the food and had np complaints in relation to this. Attempting to get the bill was a challenge and took about 15 minutes including being ignored by the grumpy bearded greeter from earlier. I gave up being polite and just approached the bar in the end. Bearing in mind that the restaurant was barley half filled at this point. On a busy night this would be expected however this was a Tuesday night. Left a tip for our server and noted this was for him not the bearded grumpy greeter or the blonde hair woman who apparently had a blind spot for our table. He probably shared it but yeah he was the main saving grace in relation to service otherwise this review would probably be a 3.

We had heard mixed reviews from several people but these were mainly from when the restaurant first opened. And now that is established itself, we thought we would give it a go. We booked a table for 4 on a Tuesday night and totally enjoyed the three-course meal. With is being during the week, the place wasn’t packed but still busy The scotch egg started with black pudding went down a treat. My main course was 28-day aged sirloin steak was cooked to my liking and the cheese cake dessert was heaven. All four of us, all enjoyed our meals which were most enjoyable. All the staff were friendly, engaging and constantly checked if we needed drinks. The ambiance was most enjoyable and we had a lovely time. We all agreed we would come back again.

My Wife and I went for lunch today, at the Cosy Club this was our first and last visit we arrived about 1230 waited to get to the reception area to ask about a table for the both of us. We were told there is. 15 minute wait and we could get a drink from the well stocked bar. We were shown to our table and given menus to choose our meals. We decided to have a tapas share stater which to approximately 20 minutes to arrive, finished that course which was cleared away we then waited another 20 minutes for the main course to arrive, people sat on the table next to us still hadn’t been served after 40 minutes so they walked out. When the main course arrived I ordered a chicken & Bacon with avocado and fries. My Wife has Mac n Cheese with bacon . My chicken was warm (not hot) so I doubt if it achieved 63 degrees and certainly not the holding temperature of 75 degrees, just about edible my fries were warm my bacon was well cooked. WhenMy Wife’s Mac n Cheese arrived it was very hot in fact it had been in the oven that long it was burnt and her comments were the pasta was rubbery. Very disappointed as we were told great reviews about the place.we will definitely not be returning in the near future.

We booked Cosy Club for Fathers Day and found that the Service was good. The children’s portions were tiny and we are just going to feed them again in MacDonalds as they are still hungry they are 9 and 7 yrs old. The adult Burger was 6ozs and inferior quality and tiny. The Greek main course salad consisted of mainly red onion half a cherry tomatoe and tiny bit of Feta and cucumber. The dinner plate had a small dish on it with humous and Tzaziki and the rest of the plate had warm pitta bread. The salad was side salad size! The music was too loud for family time at 6pm! Marilyn C

Arrived to a very mediocre welcome. The restaurant was not too busy. We were sat behind a screen which although nice and private we were also hidden from vue of the servers. We ordered drinks that took 25mins to arrive. We ordered 6 tapas to share that were so over priced and poor quality it was laughable. The chorizo was especially bad. Very rubbery and did not taste of red wine in a watery tomato sauce. Yuk!. Waitresses seemed like they couldn't be bothered and never replaced our empty water bottle. We had 6 cocktails between us but service for drinks was so slow. We would have ordered more but the whole process was so frustrating. The mains were OK but only ok. Nothing earth shattering or special. Its not a cheap place to eat but also not too expensive but I would have expected better food and service for what we paid. I work in customer service and would say your service staff need more training. They just seem constantly confused and not on top of their job at all. I will probably not visit another Cosy Club again!

I whole heartedly agree with the other reviewer, short staffed. Unfortunately not only are they short staffed, they don’t appear to really care about your dinning experience. After having been sat for 20 minutes we had to flag down a member of the staff (not our waiter, not sure where he’d gone off to) so that we could order starters. Drinks were slow (matches the staff’s attitude). I would highly advise against this establishment.

We visited Cosy Club as I wanted to eat somewhere where we could est lunch a little more leisurely than some of the other eateries in town. We were seated pretty quickly and warmly welcome by our waitress. The decor was pretty cool, lots of paintings, lovely lights, etc. My daughter and I chose our drinks - a pink lemonade and a passionfruit mojito. Both were lovely. For dinner we had the fish and chips and the toad in the hole. The wait for the dinner wasnt too long and the food arrived piping hot. The waitresses checked a couple of times to make sure we were okay and we had no complaints whatsoever. Dinner was finished off with a portion of cinnamon doughnuts. All in all a good experience and would definitely go back.

I went one evening with a friend and I have to say was slightly disappointed. My food was cold and I think for the small portions that you are given it was quite pricey. I wouldn’t mind paying the prices if you had a good portion size. The chocolate bomb I wouldn’t bother as its costly and by the time you have poured the sauce on it’s like eating a chocolate sauce with a teaspoon of ice cream in it. On a plus I think it would be better for breakfast and lunch and I have to say it is decorated well and the service was very good.

We first visited Cosy Club Basingstoke in mid-September 2021 and were very impressed with the food so we thought we'd return with more family members for a pre-Christmas treat. Unfortunately the menu appears to have been revamped and the dishes we enjoyed a couple of months ago were no longer available. On this occasion three members ordered the Flat Iron Steak. All of the steak were tough and chewy, and felt like they had been sat under a heat lamp for some time after having been cooked. The Chicken and Avocado salad was extremely salty and the children's Chicken Goujons were over cooked (again, as if they'd been sat under a heat lamp for some time) and overwhelmingly garlic flavoured (even one of the adults who tried a bite commented on the overpowering seasoning). The chips, which were very tasty last time, were bland. The chocolate brownie was not particularly pleasant. It was pretty tasteless with a strange texture. It seemed very much to be a mass produced catering product rather than prepared in the restaurant kitchen (whether this is the case, or not, I don't know). For the price, we expected a lot more! We had to wait a substantial amount of time for the food to be served, yet were advised by staff to vacate our table well before the online booking said our reservation slot expired. When questioned why this was, we were told that our table was needed to be set up for a Christmas party booking. Not a way to make us feel like valued customers. Overall it was a very overpriced, underwhelming and disappointing dining experience. Certainly not the treat we were looking forward to and we won't be returning.
