Went this evening for a family birthday, on arriving, it was so cold, no atmosphere, and empty. Food arrived it was appalling, tasteless. One meal had to be sent back and then we were charged over £12 for service charge, which we refused to pay. Definitely won't be going back.

Service was fantastic. The food was lovely as was the wine. Shame the decor is so dated and absolutely freezing inside. Once again though good food and great service.

Visited here for the second time, we was disapointed as we had purchased a groupon voucher and when booked told us we could not use it at evenings/weekends. We purchased a bottle of wine when first asked i was shocked the waitress had said they had no rose wine she checked and found me a bottle. I purchased a pasta... More

Please don't waste your time in going. It was 6:30pm on a Saturday, and they ran out of steak and one other popular dish. My cabonara was very dry and had a really funny taste and smell. The tiramisu was hard, stodgy and frozen in the middle. Won't ever go again which is a shame as 5 years ago they... More

I can only bullet point this review as otherwise will take forever: 1. Groupon voucher - don't bother it cost us a fortune on top of this. The only option within the price of thhe voucher was a margerita pizza 2. Italian bread starter - actually stale french stick and breadsticks. When I asked for a dip they looked at... More

Sat in Sofia's as I'm typing this and what an absolute con. Went as a groupon offer for three course meal but you were only allowed to spend £3.95 for starter and £8.95 for main otherwise pay the difference. There was only bread and olives on the starter and a margarita pizza for main. Shocking! No pasta or other main... More

Description
The Guildhall in Walsall's Old Square is an imposing old building which dates all the way back to the 16th century. Now a Grade I listed gem, the site has been converted into a lively neighbourhood Italian restaurant and the never-ending dining room is crammed with tables of all sizes, fairy lights and an open-plan kitchen where chefs are hard at work tossing pizzas in the air. Live music & Italian music is played at Sofia's, adding to the upbeat atmosphere, and the menu is filled with old-fashioned favourites and also traditional English Favourites such as afternoon tea and Sunday Roast
