Fabulous independent cafe - with a second hand bookshop and picture framer tucked away in the back. Brilliant coffees - and I can also heartily recommend the salads and bagels - very strongly recommended

The cafe has a great selection of teas coffees and cakes to choose from but the main attraction has to be the bookshop at the back. It has charming piles of books scattered all around for you to browse and to purchase. The establishment is well run and is not pretentious or overrated in any way. I'd love a return... More

We often come here after shopping in Didsbury, or just to sit back and relax on a Saturday. It's the kind of place where you end up staying for a long while. I usually have the super tasty tea cakes with lapsang tea... Staff are fantastic.

My friend brought me here for breakfast before I travelled back home. It was exceptional! I had the veggie breakfast and it was absolutely delightful. It looked beautiful on the plate and tasted even better than it looked. Everything was perfectly cooked - particularly the poached eggs and homemade baked beans. Unfortunately I didn't have time to explore the library... More

If the books of Lewis Carol offer us an escape into the wonders of his fantastical imaginary world then The Art of Tea offers us a similar doorway into the realms of our own imagination. It is a lovely place with great quality food and a serene atmosphere for those times when you need to escape into your own fantastical... More

Decided to try this place earlier in the week and a few days later we are back again. This place has a great atmosphere, great service, great food and the earl grey tea is the best I've tasted.

My friend lives in Manchester I was visiting and he recommended this place as I love all things quirky and I love books. Well I was not disappointed it's amazing! Quirky inside and such a wide range of people enjoying. Superb menu, we had the homemade peanut butter cake which was delicious. I had their own blend art of tea... More

This place was a fantastic discovery. Options for brunch are excellent and their tea menu is very good. Prices are ok. The atmosphere is laid back, with dim lightning and music. At the back of the restaurant there is a small bookstore that sells (mostly) used books. On Thursday nights there's live acoustic music, which Im looking forward to see.

Found a lovely corner of the shop to work in of an evening. Great wifi connection. Limited menu but lovely options. Lovely fresh soup of the day with fresh bread. Fantastic staff. Great music night on a Thursday, if you want to work maybe a tad distracting but for everyone else it was great. Will be definitely going again.
