Been here a couple of times and reviewed once already. I've reviewed for a second time because it was great once again. I had an onion bhaji starter, lamb karahi curry, garlic naan bread and a can of coke for £8.80. The lamb was fork tender and delicious. I'm a big fan of Manchester's curry cafes, and this one ranks... More

I come to Al Faisal quite frequently and have someone being disappointed. This latest visit wasn't as good as usual though and I may shop around for another similar place after this. It was a busy-ish Sunday afternoon when I called in and had three curries with chapatis. The lamb Karai was very fatty and the chickpeas just a little... More

I am a self confirmed addict here and many a hangover has been put to bed by a huge bowl of channa or dahl or sag aloo. This time it was the former and the latter, piled high with a mound of rice and a light, fluffy naan. Service was a tiny bit slower than usual but I will be... More

Never changed in 20 years, still green plastic chairs attached to tables... Basically very basic, and the food is genuine street Bangla-Manc food; good quality YES- good value YES - good service YES as long as you don't set your expectations to high unpretentious and good

Top class food, simple, modest surroundings, quick service and nice people serving. What more could a curry lover want?

Had a lovely meal of chick peas and rice with side salad topped with plenty of chopped chile peppers. Washed down nice fresh water. Only £5.50 a real tasty bargain. Lovely friendly staff.

Food here is delicious.. Even my 2 year old loved the keema and peas with rice. Used to come all the time when we worked in town for lunch but not been for years, came today and brought our 2 and 4 year old. Who shared keema and cheesy naan. The gentlemen who run it are lovely and polite and... More

I love this place. Every time I go I have veggie curry, dhal and chapati for under a fiver. You can be in and out in less than 15 minutes. Absolutely delicious food in a very basic cafe with friendly staff. An absolute gem.

It was Saturday and the Kabana was closed so we found ourselves in the Al Faisal. The onion bhaji and seekh kebab were as good as usual but the Karahi lamb was a little bland and unexciting. The naan bread was good though. It is still good value for money and a pleasant change from the trendy eateries that have... More
