Eivuna was fully booked so we thought we’d give el rincon a second chance after an average experience with them a couple of years ago. No warm welcome, surly waitress and lukewarm white wine. Then lukewarm Patatas bravas arrived, 5 minutes later another tapas, supposed...More

Nice venue and had a table for 10. The food is incredibly bland. Some of the worst tapas I’ve had. Just no flavour.

Didn't immediately find this place as it is down a side street, but it's worth seeking out. Very tasty tapas and good value for money. Large selection of veg, seafood and meat options.

Spent a nice long afternoon with friends in El Rincon had four or five tapas dishes each every one was excellent. Few bottles of wine. We really enjoyed it.

Went last night with friends- lovely Spanish/football memorabilia decor, great beer and fantastic food! The mixed tapas we had were excellent. Will definitely visit again.

Food was good, but basement location smelled foisty as though it was damp. Service was OK, not exactly warm & friendly. Worst part was the gent toilets, urinal's both overflowing and stank! Would have been a lower rating but the food was pretty good and...More

We went to the Tapas bar for a birthday celebration. It was fairly quiet, as it was a Tuesday evening at 7.30pm. We were not given menus, asked if we would like drinks or welcomed. We got our drinks from the bar, and sat down,...More

A warm welcome, great service, good food. We came as a party of four, tried at least ten of the tapas dishes, none of which disappointed.

I normally say 10pm - they will serve later, but you really need to sit down by 10 if you want to get a good range of dishes. And yes, it's a good idea to book - can get very busy from Thursday onwards. The food is... More

Sorry you'll have to ask the restaurant if they do gluten free bread etc but I would think you could eat there by only choosing tapas that did not involve flour..

El Rincón de Rafa is Manchester's longest-serving independent Spanish restaurant, having been in the city centre for 22 years. A family run establishment, El Rincón is regularly described as a 'hidden gem' and offers a relaxed, authentic experience, brought to Manchester from Málaga by owner Rafael Cabrera-Vargas. El Rincón offers a large range of tapas and main courses (including paellas) and a fully stocked bar with a huge variety of Spanish beers (both bottles and draught) and wines. The off the beaten track but central location of El Rincón (close to the Hilton hotel - turn down St John's St from Deansgate and take the first right) ensures an unbeatable authentic Spanish atmosphere, but with hidden nooks and crannies for a more intimate feel. The restaurant doesn't accept bookings for two, seating couples at a number of tables on a first come, first served basis. Customers are also welcome to visit just the bar for food and/or drinks. Que aproveche!
