Loved the food and the service. We tried many dishes- I could eat the chorizo every day. The potato dishes were all great- the shrimp in bacon was delicious. Lamb chops yummy. Mushrooms were amazing. Had the red sangria- really great flavor, not very strong...More

Been here many times before but doubt I will venture again. The smell as you entered the bar area was very off putting, Chester zoo sprung to mind and where has the atmosphere gone? Food and wine was nice but the staff are so miserable.

Been here many times before, some times better than others. Arrived at about 6.00 on a Friday evening, four of us. We had walked passed other Spanish/Catalan eateries bulging at the doors.El Rinçon had a grand total of two other diners! The bar area looked...More

Steer your eyes 👀 away from the decor, ignore the smell as you descend the stairs, because once inside you’ll find a truly delightful and authentic Spanish restaurant that serves outstanding food.

Been having dinner with my parent today after hearing plenty of comments from this place. Great service, very fast and really good food. It’s not easy to get that Spanish flavour abroad and I’m very picky with it when it comes to food from my...More

We went here to celebrate my daughter's graduation. The meal was fantastic once again. The individual tapas were brought to the table as they are cooked. Fantastic flavours, great choices. Also the waitresses are superb, very attentive and willing to answer any questions about the...More

Beautiful steak, great service. One of my favourites. It was also very refreshingly cool on the hottest day of the year!!

I found this place to have impeccable service and the food was exquisite. It's located in Longworth Street to the rear of Deansgate, even though its address is Deansgate. It's not a highly-polished venue, but certainly feels authentic. I had the battered fried hake, mushrooms...More

There was nothing particularly wrong with this restaurant, but neither was there anything about it which would make me recommend it to a friend. All the food was ok - nothing stood out as being delicious and nothing was inedible. Given that it is a...More

I normally say 10pm - they will serve later, but you really need to sit down by 10 if you want to get a good range of dishes. And yes, it's a good idea to book - can get very busy from Thursday onwards. The food is... More

Sorry you'll have to ask the restaurant if they do gluten free bread etc but I would think you could eat there by only choosing tapas that did not involve flour..

Description
El Rincón de Rafa is Manchester's longest-serving independent Spanish restaurant, having been in the city centre for 22 years. A family run establishment, El Rincón is regularly described as a 'hidden gem' and offers a relaxed, authentic experience, brought to Manchester from Málaga by owner Rafael Cabrera-Vargas. El Rincón offers a large range of tapas and main courses (including paellas) and a fully stocked bar with a huge variety of Spanish beers (both bottles and draught) and wines. The off the beaten track but central location of El Rincón (close to the Hilton hotel - turn down St John's St from Deansgate and take the first right) ensures an unbeatable authentic Spanish atmosphere, but with hidden nooks and crannies for a more intimate feel. The restaurant doesn't accept bookings for two, seating couples at a number of tables on a first come, first served basis. Customers are also welcome to visit just the bar for food and/or drinks. Que aproveche!
