The staff are very friendly and efficient and really looked after us. There is a lovely covered outdoor seating area which was perfect for eating, with an outdoor bar and pizza oven giving it a very warm atmosphere. Jordan served us and was very friendly...More

Ok so the food I saw being served looked great, but to be honest only went for the pub, this is obviously a very popular venue although we found seating quite easily, there is a great beer garden which was popular, all in all a...More

We came when it was quiet. Has a salmon salad which was just about ok. The sausages in the sausages and mash were indelible and looked undercooked. The burger was poor too. Very overpriced and poor food. Will definitely not return again.

The Met has been local to us for many years so we go quite often. The big beer garden is great in the sunshine but gets unbelievably busy, especially at the weekends. The food can be good, but can also be disappointing and is definitely...More

The metropolitan is at the heart of West Didsbury. The pub servers fantastic restaurant food, and great pizzas for a quick bit. Always lively and has plenty of outdoor seating.

Great service, very attentive staff that served outstanding food. Great value as well. The selection of beers available is worth a mention. The Taylor's was in great form!

I've been going to this pub since it was the midland. When it changed to the metropolitan and for some years after it used to have the best Sunday dinner in Manchester but now, well, it's not the best by a long shot. It always...More

Thanks for the feedback and I am disappointed to hear that you feel our food quality has declined recently. I can only apologise that your meals were not up to our usual high standard on this occasion. What you have described is certainly not what...More

Sat down for half hour before anyone brought us over any menus, which we had to request in the end. Food came and the roast potatoes were rock hard I couldn't cut through it at all. No one asked me how my meal was so...More

Great building and lovely interior. This is always packed out. I've never eaten here only had drinks. It's a favourite of mine.

Sorry, some pubs allow dogs and others don't ! There is a large outdoor seating area with heaters and the landlords may permit dogs on a lead there, however, as the other reviewer said - that is down to the landlords.

The Metropolitan's smart & classic decor reflects the building’s colourful history as a fine Victorian railway hotel. Behind the bar, tall library-style ladders reaching almost to the ceiling rest on a display of fine wines and premium spirits.Treat yourself to an afternoon tea in the relaxing library area with its comfortable armchairs, open fire and well-stacked bookshelves. Ifyou’re dining, take a seat in our elegant conservatory restaurant – light and airy in the daytime and warm and intimate come the evening, it’s the perfect setting to indulge in gorgeous home-cooked cuisine. We serve food all day from breakfast onwards and a there’s a selection of seasonal menus and daily specials to choose from. Our outdoor bar is a wonderful place to enjoy quality drink, fine food and balmy temperatures. You don’t have to wait for a sunny daythough; with its huge outdoor canopy you can dine alfresco whatever theweather.
